BRODHEAD/WHEELING, WV - Charlotte Krause Riemer, age 81, formerly of Brodhead, passed away on Saturday, July 26, 2009, in Wheeling, WV.
She was born on October 9, 1927 in Brodhead, WI, the daughter of Harry B. and Ida (Macomber) Krause. She married Vernon "Mike" Riemer on August 19, 1950 in Brodhead. He passed away on July 17, 1996.
Charlotte graduated from Brodhead High School and after her marriage to Mike, they moved to Missouri and eventually to West Virginia. She loved crafts, especially working with clay. Charlotte was a member of Vance Presbyterian Church of Wheeling, WV.
Charlotte is survived by sisters-in-law and brother-in-law, Robert (Harriette) Trumpy, Monroe, WI, Beth Riese, Brodhead, Mary Riemer, Watertown, WI, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a brother, Laverne "Hap" Krause, a sister, Leona Peppers Nee, brothers and sisters-in-law, Ben (Bess) Zimmerli, Ernie Riese, Oren (Frances) Burt, Arthur Riemer, and Willis ( Lenora) Riemer, Lotus Riemer, and Ferrol (Marvin) Malkow.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, July 31, 2009, at the D.L. NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, BRODHEAD, WI, with Rev. Steve Groves officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Brodhead. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. Friday until time of services at the funeral home.
