Charles G. Miller, age 86, of Monroe, formerly of Browntown, passed away Thursday, March 31, 2016 at the Monroe Manor. He was born on March 13, 1930 in Freeport, IL; the son of Milburn and Helen (Blodgett) Miller. He graduated from South Wayne High school in 1947.

Charles and Dorothy Wahler were married on July 9, 1949 at the West Wiota Lutheran Church.

Charles and Dorothy farmed on the family farm from 1951-2001, where he also ran a bait shop for many years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, trap shooting and spending time with family.

Charles was a member of Peace United Church of Christ, Blackhawk Sportsmen Club, serving as past president, Blackhawk Snowmobile Club, serving as past president and Lafayette Alliance. He also was a lifetime member of the Blackhawk FFA Alumni and served on the Blackhawk School Board and the Cadiz Township Board for many years.

He is survived by his wife, Dorothy of Monroe, son, Michael (Julie) Miller of Monroe; son-in-law, Mike Dunlavy of Browntown; brother, Jack (Dorothy) Miller of Baldwinsville, NY; grandchildren: Nicole (Steve) O'Dell of Menomonie, Kim (Jarrod) Osborn of Fremont, Nick (Katrina) Dunlavy of Brodhead, Kourtney (David) Lauer of West Bend, Bryan Miller (Jenessa Anderson) of Madison, Erinn (Garrett) Mueller of Austin, MN; great grandchildren: Corinne and Caroline O'Dell; Isaac, Chase, and Hannah Osborn; Spencer and Sydney Dunlavy; Drew and Brody Mueller.

He was predeceased by his parents, Milburn and Helen, daughter, Debra Dunlavy, sisters-in-law, Marjorie Brinkmeier, Virginia Dischler, brothers-in-law, David Brinkmeier & Lucas Dischler and aunt Fern Mau.

Funeral services will be Monday, April 4, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Peace United Church of Christ in Browntown, with Pastor Wayne Gregory officiating. Burial will follow in Union Cemetery, South Wayne.

Visitation will be Sunday, April 3rd, from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. at the Shriner-Hager-Gohlke Funeral Home 1455 Mansion Dr., and 18th Ave. in Monroe.
