Cecile A. Dammann, 95, of Whitewater, formerly of Fort Atkinson, passed away on Saturday, June 26, 2010 at Fairhaven Retirement Community.

Cecile was born on September 22, 1914 in Stockton, IL, daughter of the late Charles and Winefred (Luce) Cliff. She had been a registered nurse at the Fort Atkinson, Monroe, Rockford and Kenosha hospitals.

Cecile was a member of the Eastern Star, Woman's Club and First Congregational UCC and its Lend-A-Hand. She volunteered at the Nutrition Center, Thrift Shop and the Hoard Museum. She enjoyed reading, doing crossword puzzles, being outdoors, her dogs and loved spending time with her grand and great grandchildren.

Cecile is survived by her son, Curt (Beth) McCulley of Whitewater; four step children, Susie (Louis) Olsen, Donna (George) Kopsell, Brian (Karen) Dammann and Lori (Jeff) Bryant; two grandchildren, Matthew (Maria) McCulley and Heather McCulley; seven step-grandchildren, Louis (Dorothy) Olsen, Marilu (Bill) Brown, Dean (Jennifer) Kopsell, David (Amanda) Kopsell, Megan (Mark) Hutchinson, Brett (Kim) Dammann, Max (Renee) Dammann; great-grandchildren, Jae and Ian McCulley; step-great-grandchildren, Katie (Nick) Leiting and Louis (Ashley) Olsen, Michael Brown, Allison, Caroline and Violet Kopsell, Amanda, Christine and Danielle Hutchinson, Cooper Dammann and Quinn and Georgia Dammann; a brother, Robert Cliff of Rockford; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was also preceded in death by her husbands, Harry McCulley, Elmer Cook, George Lang and Herbert Dammann; a daughter, Penny; two brothers, Parker and Albert; and two sisters, Ila Philbrook and Vada White.

Memorial services will be held at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 30, 2010, at the First Congregational United Church of Christ in Fort Atkinson with Rev. Chris Buckingham-Taylor officiating.

Friends and relatives may call to pay their respects at the church Wednesday from 11:30 a.m. until the time of the service. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to Fairhaven Retirement Community, HospiceCare, Inc. of Janesville or the Humane Society of Jefferson County.

The Dunlap Memorial Home is assisting the family.

If only everyone could have known her. She made such a special connection with anyone she met. There was an instant love affair and a feeling of being so blessed. She was so funny and had a wit about her that was unmatched. And stories, she had a million. We love and miss you, but know that you are in a better place.
