Bernice V. Leck, age 90 of Monroe, Wisconsin, died Saturday, June 26, 2010 at Monroe Clinic Hospital. She was born November 11, 1919 in rural Woodford, Lafayette County, Wisconsin, the daughter of Gustave and Emma (Zillmer) Monte and attended Woodford and Browntown Schools.

Bernice and William Wilde were married on December 23, 1939 at Nashua, Iowa and they farmed in the Woodford and Browntown area. Bernice later married Clifford Oscar Leck on July 25, 1964 in Browntown, WI. Bernice worked for Dorman Cheese Company for 23 years. She was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ in Monroe, former member of Monroe Eagles Auxiliary, enjoyed playing cards with her friends, and being with family.

Surviving are her daughter, Donna (Maynard) Gilbertson of Monroe, WI; son, Daryl W. Wilde of Madison, WI; step-children, Loran E. Leck of North Carolina and Carol L. Leck of Monroe, WI; grandchildren, Lori (Tony) Frenzel, Linda (Mark) McArdle, Bill (Amy) Wilde, and Wendy (Chris Wegner) Wilde; great-grandchildren, Tory, Sierra, Austin, Ashley, and Carlee; 3 step-grandchildren; and sisters, Irma Mayer of Monroe, WI, Retha Dix of Marshfield, WI, and Ardelle (Don) Sellnow of Monroe, WI. She is predeceased by her parents; husbands, William in 1960 and Clifford in 1980; brother, Virgil Monte; sister, Viola Buholzer; and step-daughter, Shirley Leck.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 1, 2010 at Shriner-Hager-Gohlke Funeral Home, 1455 Mansion Drive and 18th Avenue in Monroe with the Rev. Gretchen Sylvester officiating. Burial will follow in Saucerman Cemetery, Cadiz Township, WI.

Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

A memorial fund is being established in Bernice's memory.
