LENA - Berneda E. Montgomery, 87, of Lena passed away on Friday May 22, 2009 at FHN Memorial Hospital in Freeport, IL.
Berneda was born on October 8, 1921 in Winslow Township, Stephenson County, IL to Louie and Lena (Siedschlag) Koehn. She married John C. Montgomery in Lena, IL on August 31, 1946.John passed away on January 23, 2003. Together they farmed in the Lena area for many years. Berneda also worked for Micro Switch MFG in Freeport, IL as an inspector and retired in 1983.
A member of the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church Berneda also belong to Hannah Circle and WELCA.
Surviving is 1 Son: Craig (Linda) Montgomery of Monroe, WI. 1 Daughter: Julie (Larry) Harper of Hot Springs, AR. 1 Foster Son: Gene (Kathy) Beyer of Richmond, Texas, 6 Grandchildren: Erika and Kari Montgomery, Brian (Angie) Kurth, Tim Beyer, Mike Kurth, Jenni (Peter) Games. 3 Great Grandchildren: Braeden Kurth, Jayden and Tyler Hobson She was preceded in death by her Parents, Husband and 1 Brother LaVerne Koehn and 1 Sister Dorothy Ronnerud
Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, May 27, 2009, Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Lena, IL. Rev. Roger Hurlbut will officiate the services. Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 PM on Tuesday, May 26, 2009 at Leamon Funeral Home in Lena. Burial will be at Lena Burial Park, Lena, IL.
