Austin Joseph Blum, age 13 of rural Monticello, died on Friday, September 28, 2012 at the Monroe Clinic Hospital. He was born on July 23, 1999 in Monroe the son of Brady and Kristi (Corley) Blum. He attended the Monticello Middle School. Austin enjoyed being outdoors, helping dad on the farm, going to tractor pulls, going horseback riding, camping, fishing and was great at cooking. He liked going to school, reading, talented at drawing, and playing basketball. But most of all Austin loved being with his brothers, spending time with his mom, family, and friends.

Surviving Austin are his parents, Brady and Kristi Blum; brothers, Logan and Collin Blum all of rural Monticello; grandparents, Tom and Diana Bonk of Monticello, Suzanne Robertson and Kevin Berget of Winslow, IL, James Corley of Darlington; great grandparents, Jerome and Lorraine Tollakson of Argyle; God Parents, John Anderson and Marian Pfeuti both of Monticello; also numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. He is predeceased by grandfather, LaVerne R. Blum; great-grandparents, Louis and Helen Blum, Elmer and Betty Corley, Victor and Donna Svendsen, Gordon and Betty Olson.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 5, 2012 at 11 a.m. at the Shriner-Hager-Gohlke Funeral Home with Pastor Mary Gafner officiating. A visitation will be held on Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. A memorial fund is being established in Austin's memory.
