MONROE - Ashley C. Strait, age 18, died Saturday, January 26, 2008 at St. Louis Children's Hospital. She was born on April 8, 1989 in Madison, the daughter of Todd and Tamara (Wenger) Strait. Ashley attended Monroe High School. She worked at Studio 906. She was a member of Clarno Zion United Methodist Church. Ashley enjoyed roller skating, cheerleading, and music. She was always a happy person and was an inspiration to many people.
She is survived by her parents, Todd Strait, Monroe, and Tamara Strait, Monroe; a brother, Dustin (Christina) Strait, Monroe; maternal grandmother, Carol Wenger, Monroe; and paternal grandparents, Roger and Mary Lynn Strait, Monroe; aunts, uncles, other relatives and many friends. She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Ernest Wenger.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, February 2, 2008 at Monroe United Methodist Church, with Pastor David Busker officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at the church. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established in Ashley's name at Woodford State Bank. Shriner-Hager-Gohlke Funeral Home, Monroe, is assisting the family.
