Arraignment for Rufener is March 3

MONROE - Arraignment for a Monroe man accused of sexual assault and resisting an officer is scheduled for March 3 in Green County Circuit Court.

Nathan K. Rufener, 18, is charged with second-degree sexual assault, a class C felony; child enticement, a class D felony; two counts of third-degree sexual assault, both class G felonies; resisting an officer, exposing himself, and three counts of sexual intercourse with a child, all class A misdemeanors. He faces more than 88 years in prison and up to $111,000 in fines, if convicted.

Court records indicate a 17-year-old female was at Rufener's house Dec. 16 and was assaulted. Rufener later struggled with police while they took him into custody.

He remains free on a $15,000 signature bond.
