Annette Albright Rackow

Annette Albright Rackow, age 66, of Monroe, died Thursday, January 24, 2008 at her home.

Annette was born February 17, 1941 in Monroe to wonderful parents Chester and Ruth (Douglas) Albright. She spent her childhood in Juda where she graduated from High School in 1959.

Annette was 17 years old when she met her sweetheart, Duane Rackow, and were married on June 26, 1960. The couple made their home in Monroe and were blessed with four children, Steven (Karen) Rackow of Monroe, Janeen Rackow of Minneapolis, MN, Janet Rackow (Lynette Studer) of Verona , and Julie Rackow of Tucson, AZ. She is further survived by four grandchildren, Eric, Kayla, Kirstyn, and Rachel; and many other family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Bernard Albright; step-father, Fred Grossman; and step-brother, Virgil Grossman.

Annette was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ in Monroe and the Women of the Monroe Moose Chapter #599.

Annette worked as a professional seamstress for 24 years and taught others to sew through 4-H.

She also enjoyed reading nonfiction for education, traveling with her husband to 46 states, and internationally to Australia and New Zealand (1999), Scandinavian countries (2003), Canada (2004), and Germany, Switzerland, Austria, and Hungary (2007).

Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 28, 2008, at 11:00 a.m., at the NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, Monroe. Reverend Gretchen Sylvester of St. John's United Church of Christ will officiate. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery, Monroe. A visitation will be held at the funeral home on Sunday, January 27, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. with a Women of the Moose Memorial Service to be held at 8:15 p.m. A memorial fund will be established in Annette's name.
