Anna M. Prisk age 93 of Monroe, formerly of Monticello, died Saturday, November 1, 2014 at Pleasant View Nursing Home. Anna was born April 9, 1921 in Monroe, the daughter of Peter and Frieda (Wyman) Bernet. She graduated from Monticello High School in 1939 and married Warren V. "Boone" Prisk on July 18, 1942 at the Zwingli United Church of Christ, Monticello. Boone preceded her in death on October 14, 1996. Anna worked as an aid at Pleasant View for several years following her marriage. She and her husband owned and operated Monticello Motor and Machine for many years. Anna was a member of the Zwingli United Church of Christ and the Zwingli Ladies Aid. She was also a charter member of the Monticello Lioness Club, receiving the Melvin Jones award in 1994.
She is survived by her sister, Viola Nafzger of Monroe; four nieces, Donna Dahl, Jane (Keith) Johnson, Barb Boll, and Joyce (Doug) Stephenson; a nephew, Wayne (Sharon) Prisk; and many other nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two brothers, Wilbert and John Bernet; and a sister, Helen Hoesly.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 5, 2014, at 11:00 a.m. at the Zwingli United Church of Christ, 416 E. Lake Avenue, Monticello, with Rev. Jeannie Douglas officiating. Interment will follow in Highland Cemetery, Monticello. Visitation will be at the church on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. The Voegeli-Newcomer Funeral Home, Monticello, is assisting the family.
