Sgt. Adolph W. Zimmerman 85, of Elpaso Texas passed away on March 6, 2017 at his home with his wife and family at his bedside. He was born March 29, 1931 and was the Son of Adolph R. and Nina Zimmerman. He married Isabel Sandoval on August 10, 1990.
Adolph quit School and worked for Several Local cheesemakers in the Monroe Area and then decided to Join the United States Army, where he did his basic training in Fort Leonard Wood mo. he also served in Korea, Vietnam and Germany. While in the service he earned his GED in 1960. He was a life long learner and worked himself up to being a Cook and a head of several Mess Halls as he moved around and received many Plaques and High Honors and letters for having the best and Highest award for having the Mess Hall in his devision, after retiring from the Service he made his home in Elpaso and Started up 2 launder mats. He also enjoyed doing some woodworking, watching Sports and enjoying his family.
Surviving are his wife Isabel and 5 Step children, 13 grandchildren and 1 Great grandchild. Sisters Martha Elmer, Albuquerque, Betty Brugger Monroe two Brother-in-laws Anton Moest, Freeport and Gary Brugger. Several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his Parents, Sister Gertrude Moest, Brother-in-law Arlyn Elmer and Great nephew Ryan Ahle.
Adolph and Isabel enjoyed comming to Wisconsin to Visit about every two years and getting together with family and friends.
This last September they came to Monroe Visiting family and friends and also had a Great Visit with all his old Buddy Friends at Suisse Haus.
A mass of Christian Burial was held in Elpaso Catholic Church March 14, 2017 and Burial at Fort Bliss Army Cemetery.
