BRODHEAD — For the week of Sept. 15-21, police performed 60 security checks, 33 citizen assists, nine assists of other agencies, 13 follow-ups to incidents and no vehicle registrations; responded to 44 calls for service, 11 EMS calls, one fire call and 11 911 or BEEMS (Brodhead Elderly Emergency Monitoring System) calls; and made nine traffic stops. No detox or mental health transports were reported. 

On Sunday, Sept. 15:

●  A dog at large was reported at 4:59 a.m. in the 900 block of 3rd Street. The owner was warned.

●  The theft of a wallet was reported at 7:01 p.m. in the 1200 block of East 6th Avenue. Upon arrival at the residence, police were advised the missing wallet had been located.

●  A Janesville woman, 32, was cited for speeding at 8:10 p.m. in the 300 block of 1st Street.

On Monday, Sept. 16:

●  A juvenile was cited for a weapons offense at 1:58 p.m. after police located a knife on the juvenile in the 2500 block of West 5th Avenue.

●  A Beloit man, 43, was cited for selling alcohol to an underage or intoxicated person at 5:55 p.m. in the 2100 block of 1st Center Avenue.

●  A Brodhead man, 24, was cited for selling alcohol to an underage or intoxicated person at 6:31 p.m. in the 1100 block of 1st Center Avenue.

On Tuesday, Sept. 17:

●  A person causing a disturbance was reported at 3:09 a.m. in the 400 block of East 5th Avenue.

●  A domestic problem involving subjects in a disagreement was reported at 12:58 p.m. in the 1200 block of West 4th Avenue. Police made contact, and the matter was resolved.

●  Between 3:04 and 6:54 p.m. in the 2100 block of 1st Center Avenue, 18 drivers were cited for failure to yield to a pedestrian: an Albany woman, 50; a Juda man, 28; a Brodhead woman, 16; a Janesville man, 38, also cited for operating a motor vehicle without proof of insurance; a Warren woman, 40; a Rockton, Illinois man, 59, also cited for operating a motor vehicle without proof of insurance; a Milton woman, 43; a Janesville man, 17, also cited for inattentive driving and operating a motor vehicle without proof of insurance; a Brodhead man, 51, also cited for driving with a revoked license; a Brodhead woman, 35, also cited for driving with a revoked license and no proof of insurance; an Orfordville woman, 31; a Juda man, 20; a Brodhead woman, 54; a Brodhead woman, 56, also cited for operating a motor vehicle without proof of insurance; a Monroe man, 30; a Monroe man, 59, also cited for failure to wear a seatbelt, and his passenger, a 56-year-old Rowlett, Texas man, cited for not wearing a seatbelt; a Brodhead woman, 69; and a Janesville man, 59.

●  A dog at large was reported at 4:24 p.m. in the 700 block of East 5th Avenue. The owner was warned.

●  Trespassing on private property was reported at 6:11 p.m. in the 1100 block of 4th Street. Warnings were issued.

On Wednesday, Sept. 18:

●  Fraud involving purchases from a closed account was reported at 3:35 p.m. in the 100 block of 23rd Street.

●  A dog running at large was reported at 6:30 p.m. in the 200 block of 3rd Street. The owner was warned.

On Thursday, Sept. 19:

●  A code violation involving a shed on the terrace was reported at 11:39 a.m. in the 600 block of East 5th Avenue. A warning was issued.

●  A gas drive-off was reported at 4:19 p.m. in the 2400 block of 1st Center Avenue. The driver was contacted and returned to pay for the fuel.

●  A Janesville man, 20, was cited for driving with a suspended license at 6:49 p.m. in the 100 block of East 9th Avenue.

●  A Monroe man, 24, was arrested on charges of operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated and without a valid license at 9:42 p.m. in the 1100 block of 1st Center Avenue.

●  A Brodhead woman, 42, was arrested on charges of domestic abuse-related disorderly conduct and damage to property at 10:51 p.m. in the 300 block of 2nd Avenue.

On Friday, Sept. 20:

●  A Monroe man, 28, was arrested on a charge of disorderly conduct at 12:29 a.m. in the 300 block of 2nd Avenue. He was transported to the jail.

●  A gas drive-off was reported at 12:39 p.m. in the 1100 block of 1st Center Avenue. Contact was made, and the person returned and paid for the fuel.

●  Theft was reported at 3:31 p.m. in the 2400 block of 1st Center Avenue. It remained under investigation.

●  An animal complaint was reported at 3:41 p.m. in the 1200 block of 13th Street. It remained under investigation.

●  A dog running loose was reported at 4:39 p.m. in the 300 block of 4th Street. A warning was issued.

●  A vehicle traveling in the wrong lane was reported at 7:42 p.m. in the 500 block of East 2nd Avenue. A warning was issued.

●  A domestic disturbance was reported at 9:08 p.m. in the 600 block of 1st Center Avenue. The case was referred to the Green County District Attorney.

●  Harassment was reported at 10:36 p.m. in the 1000 block of West 3rd Avenue.

●  A vehicle being driven all over the road was reported at 10:55 p.m. in the 100 block of East 9th Avenue. The vehicle was later located. No charges were issued.


Green County Sheriff

MONROE — Christopher R. Phillips, 29, Brodhead, was arrested at 4:04 a.m. Friday, Sept. 20, on a Wisconsin Department of Corrections probation and parole warrant. He was jailed.

●  Michael S. Trumble, 63, Browntown, was arrested on a domestic abuse-related charge of disorderly conduct after deputies responded to a domestic dispute at a residence in the W8500 block of Butts Road, Town of Cadiz, at 10:01 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 22. He posted bond and was released pending court.
