Albany Police

ALBANY — Mindy L. Bocklund, 46, Albany, was cited for speeding on Saturday, Sept. 1.

•   Randal E. Miller, 64, Albany, was arrested Wednesday, Sept. 5, on a charge of disorderly conduct.

•  Jonathan D. D. Sole, 26, Middleton, was cited Thursday, Sept. 6, for driving with a suspended license.

•  Jessica L. Sandlin, 32, Albany, was cited Saturday, Sept. 8, for driving with a revoked license.


Brodhead Police

BRODHEAD — For the week of Aug. 26 to Sept. 1, there were 54 security checks, 37 calls for service, 26 citizen assists or community policing, 21 vehicle registrations, 15 assists of other agencies, 13 followups to prior incidents, 13 911/Brodhead Elderly Emergency Monitoring System calls, nine EMS calls, eight traffic stops, two fire calls and no mental health or detox transports.

On Monday, Aug. 27:

•  A Brodhead man, 22, was cited at 3:31 p.m. in the 500 block of 5th Street for allowing an animal to roam at large.

•  A Durand, Illinois man, 85, was cited for speeding at 4:52 p.m. in the 500 block of 23rd Street.

On Tuesday, Aug. 28:

•  A gas drive-off was reported at 12:42 p.m. in the 2400 block of 1st Center Avenue.

•  A code violation was reported at 3:38 p.m. in the 400 block of 4th Street. The offender was warned.

•  The theft of an undisclosed amount of cash was reported at 4:54 p.m. in the 500 block of West 2nd Avenue.

•  A hit and run with injuries was reported at 7:44 p.m. in the 1000 block of East 9th Avenue. A Brodhead man, 33, was arrested on charges of hit and run and failure to notify police of an accident. He was taken to the Green County Jail.

•  A Brodhead man, 26, was cited in the 1600 block of 1st Center Avenue for issuing worthless checks, following an investigation of an incident reported Aug. 25.

On Wednesday, Aug. 29:

•  A Janesville woman, 62, was cited for speeding at 3:37 p.m. in the 500 block of 1st Street.

•  A Brodhead woman, 23, was cited for speeding at 3:53 p.m. in the 900 block of 1st Street.

•  A Brodhead woman, 57, was cited for speeding at 5:05 p.m. in the 700 block of 23rd Street.

•  A Byron, Illinois woman, 31, was cited for speeding at 5:17 p.m. in the 700 block of 23rd Street.

•  An ATV violation was reported at 5:27 p.m. in the 2300 block of 1st Center Avenue. The ATV didn’t have a registration sticker. The driver was warned.

On Thursday, Aug. 30:

•  A dog roaming at large was reported at 3:31 a.m. in the 700 block of 23rd Street. The dog’s owner was warned.

•  A Janesville man, 31, was cited for speeding at 4:33 p.m. in the 500 block of East 9th Avenue.

•  A Davis, Illinois man, 47, was cited for speeding at 5:40 p.m. in the 600 block of 1st Street.

•  An Oconomowoc man, 34, was cited for speeding and not having motor vehicle liability insurance at 6:17 p.m. in the 700 block of 23rd Street.

•  A Janesville woman, 30, was arrested on charges of felony bail jumping and driving with a revoked license at 6:42 p.m. in the 700 block of 23rd Street. She was also cited for speeding.

On Friday, Aug. 31:

•  A gas drive-off was reported at 3:20 p.m. in the 2400 block of 1st Center Avenue. Contact was made and the matter resolved.

•  A Madison man, 28, was cited for speeding at 6:28 p.m. in the 600 block of East 9th Avenue.

•  A parking violation of a truck off the Heavy Truck route was reported at 8:39 p.m. in the 100 block of 7th Street. The driver was warned.

•  A Brodhead woman, 24, was cited in the 1100 block of 1st Center Avenue for issuing worthless checks, following an investigation of an incident reported Aug. 20.

•  A Brodhead woman, 24, was cited in the 1100 block of 1st Center Avenue for issuing worthless checks, following an investigation of another worthless checks incident reported Aug. 20.

On Saturday, Sept. 1:

•  Disorderly conduct involving two people in a verbal altercation was reported at 2:56 a.m. in the 800 block of East Exchange Street. A warning was issued.

•  A Cedar Rapids, Iowa woman, 61, was cited for speeding at 12:11 p.m. in the 600 block of 1st Street.

•  A domestic disturbance was reported at 3:13 p.m. in the 300 block of 9th Street. Police are referring charges of domestic disorderly conduct and damage to property to the Green County District Attorney’s Office.

For the week of Sept 2 to 8, there were 44 security checks, 16 citizen assists or community policing, 12 traffic stops, nine assists of other agencies, nine 911/BEEMS (Brodhead Elderly Emergency Monitoring System) calls, seven vehicle registrations, seven calls for service, four followups on prior incidents, five EMS calls, one fire call and no mental health or detox transports.

•  A Brodhead woman, 48, was cited for allowing a dog to roam at large in the 900 block of West 2nd Avenue at 10:44 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 2.

•  A traffic crash on private property was reported in the 2100 block of 1st Center Avenue at 1:58 p.m. Monday, Sept. 3. One vehicle was backed into another vehicle. As it occurred on private property, no citations were issued.

•  A 16-year-old was cited for disorderly conduct with a motor vehicle in the 2500 block of West 5th Avenue at 3:02 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 4.

On Wednesday, Sept. 5:

•  A domestic disturbance was reported in the 800 block of West 3rd Avenue at 3:17 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 5. Police made contact with the person causing the verbal disturbance and the matter was resolved.

•  A code violation was reported in the 100 block of East 3rd Avenue at 5:21 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 6. A warning was issued.

•  A code violation was reported in the 1400 block of 14th Street at 6:56 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 6. An investigation continues.

•  Four juveniles were warned for trespassing and violating curfew and released to responsible parties after police responded to a complaint of trespassing in the 1700 block of West 6th Avenue at 4:33 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 8.


New Glarus Police

NEW GLARUS — On Monday, Aug. 27:

•  An abandoned bicycle was found at 10:40 a.m. in the 500 block of 14th Avenue. It is being held at the police department.

•  Police removed a dead raccoon from the roadway at 4:12 p.m. on Wis. 81 at Industrial Drive.

On Tuesday, Aug. 28:

•  A juvenile was cited for disorderly conduct after police responded at 4:09 p.m. to a complaint of a disturbance at a residence on 1st Avenue.

•  Police responded at 8:53 p.m. to the 600 block of 2nd Avenue for a medical call.

•  Police checked on an occupied vehicle at 9:28 p.m. on Windlach Street. The person in the vehicle was on his phone. Everything was fine.

On Wednesday, Aug. 29:

•  At 2:05 p.m., police assisted a citizen who needed fingerprints taken for insurance purposes.

•  Police responded at 2:13 p.m. to the 900 block of Railroad Street for a medical call.

•  Robert E. Huber, 58, Manchester, Michigan, was cited for urinating in public at 5:17 p.m. in the 500 block of Railroad Street.

On Thursday, Aug. 30:

•  A dog at large was reported at 12:06 p.m. at the intersection of 9th Avenue and 3rd Street.

•  Paige J. Barreau, 26, Stoughton, was cited for driving without motor vehicle insurance after being stopped for not having a front license plate at 5:13 p.m. on 11th Avenue at Wis. 69.

On Friday, Aug. 31:

•  A suspicious person was reported at 7:32 p.m. in the 300 block of 10th Street. No problem was found.

•  Police checked the welfare of a person at 9:35 p.m. in the 1400 block of 2nd Street. Everything was found to be OK.

•  A suspicious person and vehicle was reported at 9:50 p.m. in the area of 2nd Street and 3rd Avenue. No person or vehicle was located.

•  Police were called at 11:48 p.m. to check the welfare of a person in the 300 block of 8th Street.

On Saturday, Sept. 1:

•  Police were requested to assist a person in unlocking their vehicle at 1:32 a.m. in the 600 block of Cow Path Lane.

•  Police assisted the Dane County Sheriff’s Office with an ongoing investigation at 2:10 p.m.

•  Ashley L. Grindle, 28, Monroe, Travis D. Jones, 30, Blanchardville, and Angie M. Jones, 31, Blanchardville, were cited for having open intoxicants in a public area at 11:23 p.m. in the 400 block of 2nd Street.

On Sunday, Sept. 2:

•  A dog running at large that killed a pet rabbit was reported at 9:03 a.m. The incident is under investigation.

•  Brandon S. Shelstad, 20, Middleton, was cited for speeding at 9:51 a.m. in the 100 block of Wis. 69.

•  Joseph W. Schlimgen, 34, New Glarus, was cited for failure to stop at a stop sign at 1:59 p.m. in the 200 block of 11th Avenue.

•  A dog bite was reported at 2:33 p.m. in the 2400 block of Wis. 69. A bite order was completed and referred to the Green County Health Department for followup.

•  Between 5:26 and 7 p.m., police removed several tree branches from the roadway due to the thunderstorm that came through the area. In addition, three manhole covers had to be placed back into position in the area of 2nd Street and 8th Avenue due to the heavy rain.

•  Police assisted the Green County Sheriff’s Office in moving a tree from the roadway in the W5100 block of Kubly Road at 7:05 p.m..

•  A pair of eyeglasses in a case was turned in at the police department at 9:11 p.m.

On Monday, Sept. 3:

•  A dead animal carcass was reported in the roadway in the 10 block of 2nd Street at 1:30 p.m. The village street department was advised for removal.

•  Police assisted a citizen whose keys were locked in a vehicle at 2:42 p.m. in the 900 block of Glarner Drive.

•  Police removed a tree branch from the roadway at 11:35 p.m. in the 100 block of 7th Avenue.

On Tuesday, Sept. 4:

•  A 20-inch girl’s bicycle was recovered at 10:46 a.m. in the 300 block of 2nd Street.

•  A parking citation was issued at 5:36 p.m. for a trailer parked longer than 24 hours in the area of 5th Street and 5th Avenue.

•  Police responded at 6:03 p.m. to a two-vehicle property damage crash in the 600 block of Wisconsin 69. No injuries were reported.

On Wednesday, Sept. 5:

•  Police assisted the Monroe Police Department at 2 p.m. with checking the village and monitoring traffic for a stolen vehicle from Monroe.

•  Cheyenne T. Harmon, 24, Freeport, was cited for speeding at 7:21 p.m. in the 700 block of Wis. 69.

On Thursday, Sept. 6:

•  A parking citation was issued at 12:35 a.m. in the 600 block of Windlach Street.

•  Police removed a dead raccoon from the roadway at 11:27 a.m. on Wis. 69 near Industrial Drive.

•  An Illinois driver’s license was reported lost at 1:02 p.m. somewhere in the area of 2nd Street.

•  Craig A. Coshun, 54, Verona, was cited for driving a vehicle with excessively tinted windows at 2:06 p.m. in the 400 block of 6th Avenue.

•  The Green County Sheriff’s Office requested assistance at 3:19 p.m. in finding some property that was reported to have been left on Old Madison Road.

•  Nicholas J. Ussery, 25, Argyle, was cited for speeding at 11:35 p.m. in the 1000 block of Wis. 69.

On Friday, Sept. 7:

•  A dog at large was reported at 9:50 a.m. in the 1400 block of 2nd Street. The dog was caught by its owners later in the day.

•  Police received a complaint of a vehicle being driven erratically with a passenger yelling out a window at 11:10 a.m. in the 1400 block of 2nd Street.

•  Police were dispatched at 12:44 p.m. to the 300 block of 5th Street for a welfare check on a person who had made statements of self-harm. Police located the person and contacted Green County Human Services.

•  Tire debris was removed from the roadway at 4:27 p.m. on Wis. 69 at Cow Path Lane.

•  Brian K. Allen, 38, Belleville, was cited for driving a vehicle with excessively tinted windows at 5:30 p.m. at 11th Avenue and Wis. 69.

•  A vehicle was cited for a 24-hour parking violation at 5:53 p.m. in the 200 block of 5th Avenue.

•  Brendon M. Derouin, 39, Belleville, was cited for driving a vehicle with excessively tinted windows at 7:10 p.m. in the 10 block of 2nd Street.

On Saturday, Sept. 8:

•  Police removed a pedestrian sign in the roadway at the intersection of 6th Avenue and 1st Street at 1:13 a.m.

•  Road debris was removed for disposal at 4:10 p.m. in the 500 block of 1st Street.

•  Harassment was reported at 6:40 p.m. in the 500 block of 14th Avenue.

•  A vehicle was cited for a 24-hour parking violation at 7:48 p.m. in the 200 block of 5th Avenue.

•  The Green County Sheriff’s Office requested assistance with a welfare check at 8:42 p.m. in the Town of New Glarus.

On Sunday, Sept. 9:

•  A wallet was reported missing at the Village Park at 11:40 a.m.

•  Police responded to a medical call at 12:12 p.m. at the intersection of 2nd Street and 4th Avenue.

•  The Green County Sheriff’s Office requested assistance with a domestic disturbance in Monticello at 12:48 p.m.

•  Dejuan Shird, 18, Freeport was cited for a marijuana violation after police stopped to assist a motorist at 3:38 p.m. at the intersection of Wis. 69 and County H.

•  A vehicle was cited at 3:59 p.m. for being parked facing the wrong direction in the 400 block of 4th Avenue.


Green County Sheriff

MONROE — Hailey N. Laws, 29, Monroe, was cited for possession of marijuana (25 grams or less) and drug paraphernalia after the Sheriff’s Office received a traffic complaint at 9:36 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 2, on a vehicle in the W300 block of Wis. 59, Town of Albany. Monroe police located the vehicle and stopped it in Monroe.

On Monday, Sept. 3:

•  At 3:06 a.m., deputies located a vehicle that had been parked for a prolonged period of time at a stop sign in the westbound exit ramp of Wis. 11 to Wis. 69 North. Deputies awoke the driver, Christopher C. Dahmen, 18, Monroe, and arrested him on a first-offense charge of operating while under the influence (alcohol) and cited him for underage possession of alcohol as well as possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. He was released pending court. Green County EMS assisted deputies at the scene.

•  Ginger M. Arthurs, 31, Brooklyn, was arrested on a domestic abuse-related charge of disorderly conduct after deputies responded at 5:24 p.m. to a domestic dispute at a residence in the N8400 block of County E, Town of Brooklyn. She was taken to the jail, where bond was posted and she was released pending court.

On Tuesday, Sept. 4:

•  Clyde L. Leverton Jr., 47, Browntown, turned himself in at 1:04 a.m. at the Green County Sheriff’s Office. A warrant had been issued through Green County for his arrest for failure to appear in court on a disorderly conduct charge. He was jailed pending court.

On Thursday, Sept. 6:

•  David G. Pankin, 56, Sun Prairie, was cited for possession of drug paraphernalia after deputies responded to a report of loud music at Sweet Minihaha Campground, N4697 County E, Town of Decatur, at 9:40 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 6.

On Friday, Sept. 7:

•  Guadalupe S. Gomez, 21, Monroe, was arrested and jailed on a probation hold at the Green County Probation and Parole Office in Monroe at 9:52 a.m. He was also cited for possession of drug paraphernalia.

On Saturday, Sept. 8:

•  Enrique I. Ramirez, 41, Monroe, was cited for speeding and driving without a license (third offense) at 6:17 p.m. in the W2500 block of Wis. 11, Town of Jefferson.

•  Matthew A. Fisher, 36, Browntown, was cited for possession of drug paraphernalia and marijuana after deputies stopped him for speeding at 6:20 p.m. in the N2100 block of Wis. 69, Town of Clarno.

•  David J. Clark, 20, Beloit, was arrested on a first-offense charge of operating while under the influence of alcohol after deputies stopped him for speeding at 6:21 p.m. in the W300 block of Wis. 81, Town of Spring Grove. He was also cited for speeding, possession of marijuana (25 grams or less), possession of drug paraphernalia and driving without carrying a valid license. He was released pending court.

On Sunday, Sept. 9:

•  Cari A. Cotter, 39, Brodhead, was arrested on charges of substantial battery and disorderly conduct after deputies responded at 12:25 a.m. to a residence in the N4000 block of Golf Lane in the Town of Decatur for a domestic abuse case. She was jailed. Brodhead police assisted at the scene.

•  Joseph E. Larson, 35, Brodhead, was arrested on charges of battery and disorderly conduct as well as on a warrant issued by the Wisconsin Department of Corrections after deputies responded at 8:24 a.m. to a residence in the N2300 block of Brodhead Airport Road in the Town of Spring Grove for a domestic abuse case. He was jailed.


Monroe Police

MONROE — On Friday, Sept. 7:

•  Genaro Vazquez Martinez, 29, Monroe, was arrested on charges of disorderly conduct, battery and bail jumping at 9:08 p.m. in the 700 block of 17th Street as the result of a domestic disturbance. He was jailed pending court.

On Sunday, Sept. 9:

•  Stacy N. Heitz, 32, Janesville, was arrested on a charge of driving under the influence of an intoxicant and driving with a prohibited blood-alcohol concentration at 12:46 a.m. in the 1300 block of 19th Street. She was released pending court.

•  Alicia D. Parr, 27, Monroe, was arrested on a charge of resisting arrest and two counts of disorderly conduct at 2:25 a.m. in the 700 block of 8th Avenue. She was jailed pending court. 

•  Kenneth H. Kopplin, 47, Monroe, was cited for disorderly conduct after causing a disturbance at 5:21 p.m. in the 700 block of 12th Avenue.


Lafayette County Sheriff

DARLINGTON — On Friday, Aug. 31:

•  A deputy assisted a citizen at 6:34 p.m. on County O, Town of Shullsburg.

•  A deputy responded at 8:33 p.m. to Wis. 81, Town of Darlington, for a welfare check.

•  Disorderly conduct was reported at 9:19 p.m. on West Center Street in South Wayne.

On Saturday, Sept. 1:

•  Livestock on the roadway was reported at 12:08 a.m. on Back Road, Town of Elk Grove.

•  Jamie L. Gratz, 42, Darlington, was arrested on a charge of operating an ATV while intoxicated at 1:18 a.m. on Country Club Road, Town of Darlington. Gratz was released to a responsible party.

•  A deputy assisted Darlington police with an alarm at 4:08 a.m. on Wis. 81 in Darlington.

•  Criminal damage to property was reported at 10:49 a.m. on Main Street in Gratiot.

On Saturday, Sept. 1:

•  A deputy responded to unlock a vehicle at 11:39 a.m. on Wis. 11 in Shullsburg.

•  A deputy assisted the Wisconsin State Patrol with a traffic stop at 4:55 p.m. on U.S. 151, Town of Belmont.

•  Greg A. Halvorson, 55, Gratiot, was cited for driving without proof of vehicle insurance at 6:37 p.m. on Red Rock Road, Town of Darlington.

•  Criminal damage to property was reported at 8:43 p.m. on County K in Gratiot.

•  A hit and run was reported at 11:52 p.m. on West Church Street in Shullsburg.

•  Cory L. Pearce, 44, Benton, was arrested and jailed on a charge of disorderly conduct and on a probation and parole hold after deputies responded to a report of disorderly conduct at 1:49 p.m. on Sheffer Lane, Town of New Diggings.

•  An animal problem was reported at 8:01 p.m. on Mine Road, Town of Elk Grove.

•  Patricio Lopez-Oliver, 51, Lena, was cited for driving without a valid license and failing to stop for an emergency vehicle at 10 p.m. on Wis. 78, Town of Gratiot.
