Monroe Police

MONROE — David M. Myers, 27, Monroe, was arrested on a charge of disorderly conduct under Wisconsin’s Domestic Violence laws at 11:34 p.m. Sept. 30 following an investigation into a domestic dispute in the 1500 block of 9th Street. He was released pending court after posting cash bail.

● Neighbors called in a disturbance at 2:59 p.m. Oct. 6 in the 200 block of 4th Avenue. As a result, Amy M. Holst, 31, Monroe, and Joshua L. Roberts, 32, Oshkosh, were arrested on charges of disorderly conduct. Holst was also cited for possession of drug paraphernalia. Both were released pending court.

● Mohammad M. H. Assaf, 23, Monroe, was cited for theft after officers were dispatched at 2 p.m. Oct. 8 to AutoZone Auto Parts, 604 8th Ave. Investigation determined Assaf was an employee and had taken and used Autozone gift cards, at a loss of about $80 to the business. 

●  A domestic disturbance was reported at 10:49 p.m. Oct. 10 at a residence in the 2200 block of 8th Avenue. Jeffery A. Dickson, 38, Monroe, was arrested on charges of disorderly conduct, battery and intimidation of a victim under Wisconsin’s Domestic Violence Laws. He was jailed pending court.

●  Police located an occupied vehicle parked on a road inside Calvary Cemetery at 12:46 a.m. Oct. 11. As a result, Hugo Sanchez Vilchis, 38, Monroe, was arrested on a first-offense charge of operating while intoxicated. He was also cited for open intoxicants in a vehicle, driving with suspended license and trespassing in a restricted area. He was released to a responsible party.


Albany Police

ALBANY — Michael A. Stewart, 31, Milwaukee, and Abigail M. Jung, 32, Madison, were cited Sept. 5 for disorderly conduct and trespassing.

●  Duane M. Lindemann, 20, Albany, was cited Sept. 6 for speeding.

●  Jakob J. Groebner, 38, Brodhead, was cited Sept. 24 for non-registration of a vehicle.

●  A juvenile was cited Sept. 25 for driving with a suspended license.

●  Davis G. Pryce, 49, Brodhead, was cited Sept. 26 for non-registration of auto.

●  Justin W. Hartwig, 34, Albany, was cited Sept. 27 for failure to wear a seatbelt.

●  Shelby L. McGraw, 19, Evansville, was cited Sept. 28 for speeding.

●  Rick L. Busch, 54, Monroe, was cited Sept. 30 for driving with a suspended license.


Monticello Police

MONTICELLO — On Sept. 26:

●  A suspicious vehicle was reported at 3:42 p.m. in the 400 block of North Monroe Street. Investigation found nothing illegal had taken place.

●  A 911 hang-up was reported at 8:06 p.m. in the 200 block of Pierce Street. It was an accidental dial.

On Sept. 29:

●  A civil issue was reported at 10:50 a.m. in the 100 block of South Main Street.

●  A suspicious vehicle was reported at 12:24 p.m. in the 400 block of North Monroe Street. Investigation found nothing illegal had taken place.

●  Animal mistreatment was reported at 3:01 p.m. in the 100 block of East Lake Avenue. Investigation is ongoing.

●  Police responded to check welfare at 4:26 p.m. in the 500 block of Sunset Avenue.

●  Dean Fuchs, 54, Monroe, was cited for speeding at 6:36 p.m. on Wis. 69 at West Coates Avenue.

●  Shane Manning, 40, Monroe, was cited for having no proof of vehicle insurance at 7:29 p.m. on Wis. 69 at West Coates Avenue.

On Sept. 30:

●  Police located an unregistered vehicle at 11:33 a.m. in the 500 block of East Lake Avenue; at 12:01 p.m. in the 100 block of Urban Road; at 12:35 p.m. in the 100 block of Urban Road; at 5:58 p.m. in the 300 block of South Monroe Street; and at 6:08 p.m. in the 200 block of South Madison Street. Warning letters were mailed.

●  Police located a burning violation at 12:43 p.m. in the 300 block of South Monroe Street. A warning letter was mailed.

●  Potential fraud that occurred outside village limits was reported at 4:14 p.m. The individual was provided contact information for the appropriate authorities.

On Oct. 1:

●  Police assisted a citizen with a paper service at 10:35 a.m. in the 100 block of North Main Street.

●  An unmaintained lawn was reported at 12:02 p.m. in the 200 block of East Lake Avenue. The owner was mailed a citation for uncut grass over eight inches.

●  Police located an unregistered vehicle at 12:28 p.m. in the 200 block of North Main Street and at 7:34 p.m. in the 500 block of South Monroe Street. Warning letters were mailed.

●  Lost property was reported at 12:30 p.m. The property was located.

●  A citizen requested a gun lock at 3:18 p.m. Police assisted in providing the citizen with a gun lock.

●  A 911 hang-up was reported at 4 p.m. in the 300 block of East Coates Avenue. It was an accidental call.

On Oct. 4:

●  Police responded to check welfare at 4:05 p.m. in the 200 block of North Main Street. Everything appeared to be fine.

On Oct. 5:

●  A suspicious vehicle was reported at 8:32 a.m. in the 100 block of North Monroe Street. Investigation found nothing illegal had taken place.

●  An animal complaint was reported at 8:35 a.m. in the 100 block of North Main Street.

On Oct. 7:

●  Police assisted New Glarus police with a traffic stop at 8:43 p.m. on Elmer Road and Kubly Road.

●  Police responded for an alarm at 12:24 p.m. in the 300 block of North Main Street. It was accidental.

On Oct. 8:

●  Police responded to unlock a vehicle at 10:35 a.m. in the 100 block of Wis. 69.

●  Blake E. Beightol, 20, Orangeville, was cited for driving without a valid license at 4:11 p.m. on Wis. 69 at West Coated Avenue.

●  Kyle F. Smith, 32, Browntown, was cited for driving without a seatbelt at 4:51 p.m. on Wis. 69 at West Coates Avenue.

●  Suspicious activity was reported at 6:22 p.m. in the 400 block of North Main Street.

On Oct. 9:

●  A volunteer from Montesian Gardens asked if a shovel was turned in that was left next to a bench at 3:25 p.m.

●  A bus passing complaint was reported at 3:40 p.m. in the 900 block of East Lake Avenue.

On Oct. 10:

●  Suspicious activity was reported at 7:06 p.m. in the 200 block of East Highland Avenue.

●  A car alarm going off was reported at 7:30 p.m. in the 100 block of Staedtler Avenue. Everything was fine. The owner was contacted, and the alarm was turned off.


Green County Sheriff

MONROE — An altercation was reported at 8:41 a.m. Sept. 30 in the N1400 block of County OK, Town of Spring Grove. As a result, Dylan T. Severson, 27, Juda, was arrested  on charges of disorderly conduct and intimidation of a victim. He was jailed pending court or bond.

● Jayden J. Rodriguez, 18, Monroe, was arrested at the Wisconsin Department of Corrections Probation and Parole Office at 11:40 a.m. Oct. 1 in Monroe. He was jailed.

●  A damaged mailbox was reported at 9:13 p.m. Oct. 1 in the N4500 block of Dutch Hollow Road, Town of Sylvester. A vehicle was heard driving away but there was no description.

●  A forklift and pickup truck blocking the eastbound lane was reported at 7:48 p.m. Oct. 2 in the W6100 block of Meadow Valley Road, Town of New Glarus. Joseph B. Mandt, 36, Belleville, reported the forklift was disabled due to a mechanical issue. He was arrested on a warrant through the Dane County Sheriff’s Office for failure to appear in court. He posted bond and was released.

● Jessica E. Erickson, 21, New Glarus, was arrested on domestic abuse-related charges of disorderly conduct, trespassing and resisting arrest at 1:16 a.m. Oct. 9 in the N6400 block of County J, Town of Adams. She was jailed and released after posting bond.

●  Deputies located a vehicle at a boat landing at 12:38 a.m. Oct. 10 in the W1500 block of County EE, Town of Albany. Cassidy C. Tway, 21, Albany, was cited for possession of 25 grams or less of marijuana and Joshua A. Ponkauskas, 21, Beloit, was arrested on a charge of operating with a restricted controlled substance. He was released to a responsible party.

●  David Hernandez-Perez, 18, Madison, was cited for driving without a valid license (second offense within three years) and speeding at 6:08 a.m. Oct. 11 in the N8800 block of Wis. 69, Town of New Glarus.


Brodhead Police

BRODHEAD — For the week of Sept. 27 to Oct. 3, police performed 90 security checks, 33 citizen assists, 13 assists of other agencies, six follow-ups to incidents, 30 vehicle registrations and 16 traffic stops; responded to 17 calls for service and reported 11 EMS calls and 19 911 or BEEMS (Brodhead Elderly Emergency Monitoring System) calls. No fire calls and no detox or mental health transports were reported.

● For the week of Oct. 4 to Oct. 10, police performed 110 security checks, 31 citizen assists, 13 assists of other agencies, five follow-ups to incidents, 13 vehicle registrations and six traffic stops; responded to 33 calls for service and reported 11 EMS calls, six 911 or BEEMS (Brodhead Elderly Emergency Monitoring System) calls and two fire calls. No detox or mental health transports were reported.

On Sept. 27:

●  A Monroe man, 20, was cited for failure to title vehicle at 4:05 p.m. in the 2000 block of 1st Center Avenue.

●  A muskrat caught by a fisherman was reported at 6:02 p.m. in the 1100 block of 11th Street. Police were able to safely free the muskrat and release it back into the wild.

On Sept. 28:

●  A missing street sign was reported at 4:23 a.m. in the 800 block of East 5th Avenue. The Brodhead Street Department was contacted.

●  Plastic fencing that had fallen into the roadway was reported at 4:24 a.m. in the 1000 block of 1st Center Avenue. Police re-secured the plastic fencing.

●  Truancy was reported at 11:16 a.m. in the 2500 block of West 5th Avenue.

●  A vehicle in violation of the city’s junk vehicle ordinance was reported at 12:22 p.m. in the 500 block of 7th Street.

●  A dog at large was reported at 2:29 p.m. in the 1700 block of West 3rd Avenue. The dog returned home. Police warned the owner.

●  A dog bite was reported at 4:05 p.m. in the 900 block of East 3rd Avenue. The matter was referred to Green County Public Health.

●  An unauthorized vehicle in a parking lot was reported at 8:18 p.m. in the 800 block of East Exchange Street. Police made contact with the owner, and the vehicle was moved.

On Sept. 29:

●  A Monroe woman, 21, was cited for driving with a suspended license at 3:57 p.m. in the 1000 block of 1st Center Avenue.

●  An Albany man, 39, was cited for driving with a suspended license at 7:20 p.m. in the 2100 block of 1st Center Avenue. Police referred the case to the Green County District Attorney’s Office for bail jumping (operating without a valid license in violation of a court-ordered bond condition).

On Sept. 30:

●  A Brodhead woman, 29, was cited for driving with a suspended license, display of an unauthorized registration plate and no proof of vehicle insurance at 3:54 p.m. in the 2000 block of West 9th Avenue.

●  A Fort Atkinson man, 25, was cited for non-registration of an auto at 5:26 p.m. in the 1100 block of 4th Street.

●  A gas drive-off was reported at 6:23 p.m. in the 1100 block of 1st Center Avenue. It was determined to be an oversight. The driver was contacted and returned to pay for the fuel.

On Oct. 1:

●  A sign placed on a terrace without a permit was reported at 12:01 p.m. in the 800 block of 1st Street. Police warned the owner of the sign. Any terrace is city-owned property.

On Oct. 2:

●  A Beloit man, 56, was cited for speeding and failure to stop at a stop sign at 8:17 a.m. in the 2100 block of 1st Center Avenue.

●  A Brodhead woman, 35, was cited for speeding at 8:58 a.m. in the 600 block of 1st Center Avenue.

●  A Janesville woman, 24, was cited for speeding and an expired registration at 1:18 p.m. in the 300 block of 1st Center Avenue.

On Oct. 3:

●  Two Brodhead juveniles were warned for violating curfew at 12:44 a.m. in the 400 block of West 3rd Avenue.

●  A dog at large was reported at 7:43 a.m. in the 1600 block of West 4th Avenue. The caller returned the dog to its owner.

●  A Sun Prairie man, 22, was cited for operating while intoxicated, tampering with an ignition interlock device, open intoxicants in a vehicle, driving with a revoked license and speeding at 3:08 p.m. in the 200 block of East 2nd Avenue.
