BRODHEAD — On Thursday, March 7:
● Disorderly conduct involving an inappropriate social media posting was reported at 2:05 p.m. in the 2500 block of West 5th Avenue. A warning was issued.
On Friday, March 8:
● A dog at large was reported at 4:42 a.m. in the 1400 block of 18th Street. Police issued a warning to the owner.
● A Waunakee man, 39, was cited for failure to stop at a stop sign at 8:33 a.m. in the 1400 block of 21st Street.
● A verbal disagreement between two people was reported at 9:11 a.m. in the 900 block of East 2nd Avenue. Warnings were issued.
● A gas drive-off was reported at 2:02 p.m. in the 2400 block of 1st Center Avenue. Contact was made, and the matter was resolved.
● A Browntown man, 54, was cited for speeding at 4:26 p.m. in the 100 block of 23rd Street.
● An Evansville man, 20, was cited for driving with a suspended license at 9:14 p.m. in the 700 block of 1st Street.
On Saturday, March 9:
● A verbal disagreement was reported at 1:03 a.m. in the 1000 block of 19th Street. Contact was made, and the matter was resolved.
● A parked vehicle facing traffic was reported at 6:39 a.m. in the 1400 block of East 2nd Avenue.
● A vehicle left in a private lot without permission was reported at 8:13 a.m. in the 1100 block of 1st Center Avenue. A warning was issued.
For the week of March 10-16, police performed 39 security checks, 34 citizen assists, 14 assists of other agencies, 17 vehicle registrations and nine follow-ups to incidents; responded to 19 calls for service, seven EMS calls, two fire calls and 10 911 or BEEMS (Brodhead Elderly Emergency Monitoring System) calls; and made four traffic stops.
On Sunday, March 10:
● An altercation between two subjects was reported at 4:26 p.m. in the 2100 block of 1st Center Avenue.
On Monday, March 11:
● A semi running in the 700 block of McEwen Street was reported at 9:18 a.m., but upon police arrival, the semi had left the area.
● A barking dog was reported at 6:31 p.m. in the 900 block of West Exchange Street. Contact was still pending with the owner as of March 17.
On Tuesday, March 12:
● Theft was reported at 3:43 p.m. in the 2500 block of West 4th Avenue.
● A complaint of subjects possibly fighting in front of a residence was reported at 3:45 p.m. in the 400 block of 14th Street. Police made contact with the complainant. The subjects had already left by the time police arrived.
On Wednesday, March 13:
● Two subjects were arrested on charges of marijuana possession after police responded at 3:15 p.m. to the 2500 block of West 5th Avenue.
● After a delivery service employee expressed concern over a person’s welfare, police responded for a welfare check at 5:05 p.m. in the 700 block of 17th Street. Police made contact with the person, and the person was fine.
● A dog was reported lost at 10:38 p.m. in the 1600 block of 20th Street. The dog was later located.
On Thursday, March 14:
● A Brodhead man, 21, was cited for a seatbelt violation at 8:09 a.m. in the 700 block of 25th Street.
● After it was reported a person was not answering their phone, police responded for a welfare check at 9:36 a.m. in the 700 block of 17th Street. Police made contact with the person. The person’s phone had died.
● One citation and three warnings for truancy were issued after police responded to complaints of truancy in the 2500 block of West 5th Avenue.
● A phone scam was reported at 4:31 p.m. in the 1000 block of West Exchange Street. No information was given out, and no money was exchanged.
● A Beloit man, 32, was cited for speeding at 5:32 p.m. in the 700 block of 1st Street.
On Friday, March 15:
● An open door at a business was reported at 1:05 a.m. in the 2200 block of 1st Center Avenue. Police made contact, and all appeared fine.
● One citation and one warning for truancy were reported after police responded to complaints of truancy in the 2500 block of West 5th Avenue.
● A Brodhead man, 36, was cited for an expired vehicle registration at 3:39 p.m. in the 1400 block of 17th Street.
● Disorderly conduct was reported at 6:29 p.m. in the 400 block of 14th Street. Police issued a warning.
On Saturday, March 16:
● A sound of breaking glass was reported at 2:58 a.m. in the 1600 block of East 8th Avenue. Police found no issues.
● An Orfordville woman, 54, was cited for speeding and not having vehicle insurance at 8:05 a.m. in the 600 block of 1st Street.
Monroe Police
MONROE — Angela M. Roush, 45, Monroe, was cited for possession of drug paraphernalia following a traffic stop at 1st Street and North 18th Avenue at 10:26 p.m. Thursday, March 7.
● Kristy J. McNett, 63, and Catherine I. Treuthardt, 70, both of Monroe, were cited for possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia following a traffic stop in the 2500 block of 13th Street at 7:29 p.m. Friday, March 8.
● Marshall V. Paul, 29, Rockford, was arrested on charges of battery and disorderly conduct under Wisconsin’s domestic violence laws after officers responded to a domestic disturbance at a business in the 500 block of 6th Street at 10:47 p.m. Saturday, March 9. A Rockford woman, 27, sustained minor injury during the incident but declined treatment. Paul was booked and released after posting bail.
On Sunday, March 10:
● Officers stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation at 12:41 a.m. in the 1900 block of 11th Avenue. During the stop, officers suspected the presence of drugs. A police K9 confirmed the suspicion, and the vehicle and its occupants were subsequently searched. A passenger, Zachary E. Gagliano, 19, Monroe, was arrested on charges of possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was booked and released pending court.
● Officers checked on an intoxicated man at 12:42 a.m. in the 1300 block of 16 1/2 Street. He was taken into protective custody due to his level of intoxication. While officers tried to identify the man, he resisted them. He was eventually identified as Eli C. Thurlby, 23, Genoa, Illinois, and charged with resisting officers. He was jailed, but later had bail posted on his behalf and was released pending court.
● A disturbance of people fighting in a hallway was reported at 11:18 p.m. at an apartment complex in the 1100 block of 16th Avenue. Police found the hallway clear of people, but investigation led to the citation of Robert L. Wedig, 54, Monroe, for allowing a disorderly house. About 30 minutes later, police were called back to the same location for a report that Wedig was kicking doors to neighbors’ apartments. Wedig would not meet with officers, and charges of disorderly conduct are being sought from the District Attorney.
● Devonte K. Mayo, 20, Monroe, was cited for possession of drug paraphernalia after officers stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation in the 200 block of Wis. 69 at 3:51 a.m. Monday, March 11. Officers smelled marijuana inside the vehicle and subsequently searched it. The search yielded a pipe.
