Darlington Police

DARLINGTON —  On July 9: 

●  Tammy Fitzsimons, 39, Darlington, was cited for issuing worthless checks at a business on Wis. 23. 

●  Kristi Priestley, 53, Darlington, was cited for issuing a worthless check at a business on Wis. 23. 

●  Ira L. Hatcher, 33, Platteville, was cited for possession of marijuana and driving while suspended at 9:35 p.m. July 12 on Wis. 81. 

●  Benjamin E. Anderson, 30, Darlington, was arrested at 9:30 p.m. July 13 on an Iowa County warrant. He was also cited for driving while suspended, non-registration of auto and no vehicle insurance. 

●  Dylan T. Massey, 21, Elizabeth, Illinois, was cited for possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia at 7:42 p.m. July 17 on Wis. 23. 

●  Nathan W. Richards, 44, Dixon, Illinois, was arrested on a charge of operating a UTV while intoxicated at 1:18 a.m. July 18 on the Cheese Country Trail. He was also cited for failing to provide required sample and operating on trail after hours.


Green County Sheriff

MONROE — On July 17: 

●  Seth M. Olin, 25, Brodhead, was arrested on a first-offense charge of operating under the influence at 1:58 p.m. on Wis. 11, Town of Monroe. He was also cited for speeding and prohibited alcohol concentration. He was released to a responsible party. 

●  Dennis E. Beutel, 50, Monroe, was cited at 10:21 p.m. for passing in no-passing zone and unreasonable and imprudent speed. 

●  Latoya L.N. Hill, 24, Janesville, was cited for driving without a valid license and no vehicle insurance at 1:23 a.m. July 18 in the W5200 block of Wis. 11, Town of Monroe. 

Craig T. Coulthard, 40, Albany, was arrested on a probation hold placed by the Wisconsin Department of Corrections at 8:26 a.m. July 23 at the Green County Probation and Parole Office in Monroe. He was jailed. 

On July 24: 

●  Thomas J. Warden, 64, Brodhead, was arrested on a charge of felony bail jumping at 3:42 p.m. in the N3900 block of Park Road, Town of Decatur. He was jailed. 

●  Nathan L. Albers, 22, Rockford, Illinois, was cited for disorderly conduct at 6:34 p.m. as a result of a disturbance along the Sugar River, Town of Decatur. 


Monticello Police

MONTICELLO — On July 10: 

●  Police conducted traffic control for the 5K run at 7 a.m. on east Lake Avenue and Garfield Street. 

●  A 911 hang-up was reported at 9:44 a.m. in the 200 block of Kennedy Street. 

●  Police conducted traffic control for the motorcycle run at 11 a.m. on North Main Street and Lake Avenue. 

●  Parking complaints were reported at 12 p.m. in the 200 block of West North Avenue. The vehicles were removed. 

●  A parking complaint was reported at 1:37 p.m. in the 200 block of North Main Street. The vehicle was gone upon police arrival. 

●  Police responded for a vehicle unlock at 3:35 p.m. in the 100 block of Wis. 69. 

●  Samantha J. Mobry, 26, Madison, was cited for excessive window tinting, driving with open intoxicants, possession of THC and drug paraphernalia at 8:11 p.m. on Wis. 69 and West Coates Avenue. 

On July 11: 

●  A cat on a transformer pole was reported at 12:28 p.m. in the 200 block of West Highland Avenue. Alliant Energy safely removed the cat. 

●  A parking problem was reported at 1:52 p.m. in the 100 block of North Main Street. The owner was cited for parking in a posted no parking zone. The vehicle was towed. 

●  Police conducted traffic control at 2 p.m. for a parade. 

●  A 911 misdial was reported at 2:11 p.m. in the 200 block of North Main Street. 

●  David M. Pestor, 20, Monticello, was cited for driving while suspended, suspended registration and no vehicle insurance at 4:59 p.m. on East Coates Avenue and North Madison Street. 

●  An ordinance violation was reported at 7:40 p.m. in the 400 block of East Coates Avenue. 

●  Police responded to check welfare at 9:26 p.m. in the 100 block of Wis. 69. 

On July 12: 

●  A lost cellphone was reported at 7:38 a.m. in the 200 block of North Main Street. 

●  A found license was reported at 10:03 a.m. in the 100 block of North Monroe Street. License was returned to owner. 

●  A UPS package delivered to wrong address was reported at 11:48 a.m. UPS was contacted and package delivered to owner. 

●  Fraud was reported at 3:35 p.m. Caller was advised to contact Green County Sheriff’s Office. 

●  A disabled vehicle was reported at 4:58 p.m. in the 100 block of North Monroe Street. Vehicle was removed by owner. 

On July 13: 

●  Police were notified of a controlled burn at 10:50 a.m. in the 500 block of South Lincoln Street. 

●  Police assisted a citizen at 3:20 p.m. in the 200 block of North Main Street. 

●  An ordinance violation was reported at 4:31 p.m. in the 500 block of Greenview. The mowing company was warned about improper disposal of grass clippings on neighbor’s property. 

●  Police responded for an EMS call at 8:27 p.m. within the village. 

●  Police assisted another agency with notarizing documents at 11:03 p.m. in the 200 block of North Main Street. 

On July 14: 

●  Police conducted traffic control for Monticello First Response at 9:30 a.m. on North Main Street and Coates Avenue.

●  Police assisted another agency with notarizing documents at 3:34 p.m. in the 200 block of North Main Street. 

●  Police conducted traffic control for Monticello First Response at 12:51 p.m. on North Main Street and Coates Avenue. 

On July 15: 

●  Police assisted the Building Inspector with a stop order at 7:19 p.m. in the 400 block of East Coates Avenue. 

●  Police assisted Green County Sheriff’s Office with an investigation at 10:50 p.m. in the 200 block of North Main Street. 

●  Suspicious activity was reported at 1:06 p.m. in the 400 block of North Pratt Road. Police determined subject did not know business was closed.

●  A subject in a black SUV taking pictures of a residence was reported at 9:09 p.m. This remains under investigation. 

On July 16: 

●  Police located an unlocked vehicle with open windows at 1:39 a.m. in the 400 block of West Coates Avenue. The owner secured the vehicle. 

●  An unattended open burn was reported at 2:11 p.m. in the 800 block of East Lake Avenue. Police extinguished the fire and left message on door to contact police. 

●  Police assisted a citizen about assisted living at 2:27 p.m. Police gave citizen information of ADRC/Green County Human Services.

On July 19: 

●  Courtney Johnson, Madison, was cited for possession of THC and illegal window tinting at 4:10 p.m. on Wis. 69 and West Coates Avenue. 

●  Lost property was reported at 6:01 p.m. while on a walk. Officers were unable to locate the property. 

●  Police notarized paperwork at 9:47 p.m. 

On July 20: 

●  Officers attempted to catch a dog running at large at 12:28 a.m. in the 100 block of North Main Street. The dog took off and police could not locate it. 

●  Police notarized paperwork at 9:10 p.m. 

On July 23: 

●  Police responded for a vehicle unlock at 2:09 p.m. at the Monticello Pool. 

●  A landlord vs. tenant dispute was reported at 2:58 p.m. in the 300 block of South Garfield Street. Police advised parties to contact an attorney. 

●  Police responded for a smoke alarm at 6:45 p.m. at the Monticello School. It was found to be a false alarm caused by a popcorn machine.
