Monroe Police

MONROE — Theft was reported at 2:35 p.m. Dec. 21 in the 300 block of 6th Avenue West. Kortney L. McCormick, 27, Monroe, was arrested for theft and obstructing an officer. She was released to a responsible party pending court. 

●  Officers attempted to pick up Frederick S. Neuenschwander, 54, Monroe, on an outstanding warrant at 3:57 p.m. Dec. 22 in the 1200 block of 12th Avenue. He was located and arrested. He was jailed pending court. 

On Dec. 23: 

●  Officers located an occupied vehicle at 12:03 a.m. at Twining Park. Caleb C. Ruegsegger, 20, Monroe, was cited for possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. 

●  A disturbance was reported at 1:35 a.m. at a residence in the 800 block of 29th Street. Jessica L. Olson, 36, Monroe, was arrested for disorderly conduct under Wisconsin’s Domestic Violence provisions. She was booked and released after posting bond. 

●  Michael B. Bowling, 24, Monroe, was arrested at 3:55 p.m. in the 400 block of West 21st Street on a felony warrant issued by Monroe Police Department for failing to appear in court on prior drug possession charges. He was jailed. Nicholas D. Siegel, 27, New Glarus, was cited for driving after suspension, his eighth offense, and non-registration of vehicle. 

●  A belated vehicle vs. pedestrian accident was reported at 7:13 p.m. that occurred on 9th Street at 20th Avenue. Investigation resulted that George H. Suess, 78, Orangeville, was cited for inattentive driving. The condition of the victim was unknown. It was believed the victim had sought medical treatment at the Monroe Clinic Emergency Department for non-life threatening injuries. 

On Dec. 29: 

●  Officers observed a vehicle partially parked in the roadway with hazards on at 8:57 p.m. in the 1300 block of 11th Street. Connor S. Johnson, 19, Beloit, was arrested for possession of marijuana with intent to deliver and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was jailed. A passenger, Dakota L. Quarzenski, 19, Darien, was cited for possession of marijuana. 

●  Ronald L. Syvrud, 62, Windsor, was arrested at 10:08 p.m. in the 400 block of 4th Avenue on a warrant issued by Columbia County Sheriff’s Office for failure to appear in court on an operating under the influence case. He was jailed. 

●  A disturbance was reported at 1:08 a.m. Dec. 30 at an apartment complex in the 1700 block of 30th Avenue. Keith A. Jackson, 52, Monroe, was cited for disorderly conduct. Twenty minutes later, officers were called back for the same issue and Jackson was arrested for disorderly conduct. He was jailed pending court. 

On Jan. 1: 

●  Nathan K. Rufener, 31, Monroe, was arrested on a fourth-offense charge of operating while intoxicated and possession of drug paraphernalia at 12:54 a.m. in the 800 block of 6th Street. He was jailed pending court. 

●  Bradley J. Rear, 57, Monroe, was arrested on a parole violation at 1:42 a.m. in the 1600 block of 12th Street at the request by the Wisconsin Department of Corrections. He was jailed.

●  A vehicle that collided with a snowbank was reported at 6:41 a.m. on 1st Street and 22nd Avenue. Omar E. Alvarez Monreal, 32, Freeport, was arrested on a first-offense charge of operating while intoxicated. He was also cited for driving without a license. He was released to a responsible party pending court.  

●  Dennis E. Beutel, 50, Monroe, was arrested on a charge of bail jumping at 7:01 p.m. Jan. 3 in the 2300 block of 6th Avenue. He was later released after posting the bond. 


Monticello Police

MONTICELLO — On Dec. 19 

●  Police responded to check welfare at 2:30 p.m. in the 500 block of South Main Street. 

●  Theft was reported at 6:16 p.m. in the 100 block of South Main Street. It was found that FedEx delivered package to neighbor’s house. 

On Dec. 21: 

●  Fraud was reported at 1:14 p.m. and 3:53 p.m. in the 500 block of Montesian Court. Investigation is ongoing. 

●  Suspicious activity was reported at 6:37 p.m. in the 100 block of Wis. 69. Everything was fine. 

●  A domestic disturbance was reported at 9:33 a.m. Dec. 22 in the 300 block of East Coates Avenue. Investigation is ongoing. 

On Dec. 23: 

●  Police responded to check welfare at 12:24 a.m. in the 500 block of Montesian Court. 

●  Police assisted Green County Sheriff’s Office with a vehicle vs. deer at 5:48 p.m. in the W2900 block of County C. 

●  A suspicious vehicle was reported at 10:01 p.m. in the 500 block of East Wisconsin Avenue. The vehicle was gone before police arrival and were unable to locate vehicle. 

On Dec. 26: 

●  A 911 hang-up was reported at 12:17 p.m. in the 100 block of Urban Road. Everything was fine. 

●  Ice fishing on thin ice was reported at 12:20 p.m. at Montesian Lake. Everything was fine. 

●  Police responded for a smoke alarm at 11:42 a.m. Dec. 28 in the 300 block of South Main Street. Everything was fine. 

On Dec. 29: 

●  Police responded for a vehicle unlock at 7:56 p.m. in the 100 block of East Coates Avenue. 

●  A parking complaint was reported at 8:18 p.m. in the 300 block of South Garfield Street. The owner was cited for violation of winter parking restrictions. 

●  A parking complaint was reported at 10:21 p.m. in the 100 block of West North Avenue. The owner was cited for violation of winter parking restrictions. 

On Dec. 30: 

●  A parking complaint was reported at 7:57 a.m. in the 200 block of Greenview Avenue. The owner was cited for violation of winter parking restrictions. 

●  Jacob Trumpy-Stumlin, 20, Monticello, was cited at 8:29 a.m. for excessive window tinting, driving with a suspended license and no vehicle insurance. 

●  Police assisted an EMS call at 8:40 p.m. in the village. 

●  Police assisted Dane County Coroner’s Office with a notification at 9:49 p.m. in the village.


Brodhead Police

BRODHEAD — For the week of Dec. 27 to Jan. 2, police performed 31 security checks, 17 citizen assists, nine assists of other agencies, five follow-ups to incidents, no vehicle registrations and three traffic stops; responded to 53 calls for service and reported 11 EMS calls, 13 911 or BEEMS (Brodhead Elderly Emergency Monitoring System) calls and no fire calls. No detox or mental health transports were reported. 

On Dec. 27: 

●  A subject moving snow with a loud vehicle was reported at 1:21 a.m. in the 700 block of West 2nd Avenue. A warning was issued. 

●  A harassment complaint was reported at 9:16 a.m. Informational only. 

●  Physical disorderly conduct was reported at 8:29 p.m. in a residential building in the 2000 block of West 4th Avenue. Charges being referred to the Green County District Attorney. 

On Dec. 29: 

●  A dog at large was reported at 12:07 p.m. in the 800 block of East 2nd Avenue. Officers were unable to locate any loose dogs. 

●  Fraud was reported at 2:01 p.m. in the 1800 block of West 3rd Avenue. Subject was instructed to not give out any information. 

●  Theft involving stolen commercial equipment was reported at 10:42 p.m. in the 1900 block of Ten Eyck Road. Investigation found the equipment had been moved to another building. 

On Dec. 30: 

●  A parking citation was issued for a vehicle in violation of the city’s winter parking ordinance at 12:33 a.m. and 12:41 a.m. in the 1000 block of 10th Street, at 1:22 a.m. in the 1000 block of West Exchange Street, at 1:31 a.m. in the 900 block of 10th Street, at 1:43 a.m., 2:33 a.m. and at 2:40 a.m. in the 600 block of West 2nd Avenue, at 1:51 a.m. in the 500 block of West 2nd Avenue, at 2:14 a.m. in the 900 block of East 2nd Avenue and at 2:44 a.m. in the 1000 block of 6th Street. 

●  A hazard involving a vehicle stuck halfway in the road was reported at 7:31 a.m. in the 1600 block of 1st Center Avenue. Officers assisted moving the vehicle off the road. 

●  A dog at large was reported at 3:03 p.m. in the 1400 block of East 4th Avenue. The dog returned home and owner was verbally warned. 

●  Verbal harassment in a residential building was reported at 4:49 p.m. in the 1200 block of 11th Street. This remains under investigation. 

●  A Freeport man, 23, was arrested at 10:15 p.m. in the 300 block of 23rd Street on a warrant issued through Wisconsin Department of Corrections following a disorderly conduct investigation at a commercial building. 

●  Suspicious activity was reported at 1:37 a.m. Dec. 31 in the 1200 block of 25th Street. Police found nothing suspicious. 

●  A Monroe woman, 30, was cited for driving after suspension at 8:03 a.m. Jan. 1 in the 1200 block of 1st Center Avenue. 

On Jan. 2: 

●  A Brodhead man, 22, was cited for operating while intoxicated at 3:36 a.m. in the 1500 block of East 9th Avenue.

●  Four parking citations were issued at 11:52 a.m. in the 1000 block of West 2nd Avenue for vehicles in violation of the city’s winter parking ordinance. 

●  A hazard involving wires in the street was reported at 12:28 p.m. in the 1300 block of 13th Street. They were found to be internet wires and removed by police.


Green County Sheriff

MONROE — On Dec. 23: 

●  Misael Olmos Garcia, 23, Monroe, was cited for criminal driving without a license at 9:21 a.m. in the W600 block of Wis. 11, Town of Spring Grove following a traffic stop. 

●  Kyrene R. Trevino, 35, Monroe, was arrested at 11:05 a.m. at the Probation and Parole Office on a Wisconsin Department of Corrections hold. She was jailed. 

●  Deputies responded for an incident at 7:53 a.m. Dec. 24 at the Green County Jail in Monroe. Carolina M. Bartosik, 20, Monroe, was charged with criminal damage to property and battery to law enforcement by prisoner. She was jailed. 

●  A disturbance was reported at 1:59 p.m. Dec. 25 at a residence in the W6600 block of Franklin Road, Town of Clarno. Ricky A. Kamps, 52, Monroe, was arrested on a charge of domestic abuse disorderly conduct. He was released after posting bond. At 7:57 p.m. he was arrested for violating the 72-hour no contact after a domestic abuse arrest. He was jailed. 

●  A disturbance was reported at 9:47 p.m. Dec. 27 at a residence in the 500 block of South Main Street in Monticello. Timothy J. Faber Jr., 30, Monticello, and Brittney A. Roche, 23, Monticello, were arrested on a charge of domestic abuse disorderly conduct. Both were released after posting bond. 

●  A disturbance was reported at 8:30 p.m. Dec. 31 in the N3100 block of Rufenacht Road, Town of Monroe. Briana M. Maaske, 23, Monroe, was arrested for domestic abuse related disorderly conduct. She was jailed pending court or bond posting. 

On Jan. 2: 

●  A vehicle in the ditch was reported at 4:48 a.m. in the N5800 block of Wis. 69, Town of Washington. Nicholas A. Paschal, 27, Monroe, was northbound when he lost control due to snow on the roadway, entered the ditch and came to a rest. He was cited for driving without a valid license, his second offense in three years, and for non-registration of auto. The vehicle was towed. 

●  A disturbance was reported at 10:15 p.m. at a residence in the 400 block of South Mechanic Street in Albany. Anthony J. Terrones, 18, Beloit, was cited for disorderly conduct.


Lafayette County Sheriff

DARLINGTON — On Dec. 20:

●  Gratiot First Response and Green County EMS of Darlington responded at 2:03 a.m. to Main Street in Gratiot for a medical emergency related to a traffic crash. Deputies and the Gratiot Fire Department assisted on scene. Upon further investigation, Hans L. Gehrmann, 27, Argyle, was cited for first-offense operating while under the influence.
