Monroe Police

MONROE — Police responded to a call about underage people drinking on the street in the 700 block of 16th Avenue at 3:33 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 22. As a result, Shawn W. Boss, 19, Monticello, was arrested for a probation violation and cited for underage drinking. He was jailed pending further proceedings.


Albany Police

ALBANY — On Monday, Jan. 14:

●  A juvenile was cited for failure to stop for a school bus.

●  Dale L. Finley, 37, Albany, was cited for driving with a suspended license.

On Tuesday, Jan. 15:

●  A juvenile was cited for disorderly conduct.

On Saturday, Jan. 19:

●  Police issued 17 snow-related parking citations.

On Sunday, Jan. 20:

●  Shane D. Thrun, 26, Albany, was arrested on a charge of disorderly conduct and for a probation violation.


Brodhead Police

BRODHEAD — For the week of Jan. 13-19, police performed 25 security checks, 60 citizen assists, nine assists of other agencies, 10 vehicle registrations and nine follow-ups to incidents; responded to 16 calls for service, six EMS calls, one fire call and eight 911 or BEEMS (Brodhead Elderly Emergency Monitoring System) calls; and made 13 traffic stops. There were no mental health or detox transports. Two winter parking citations were issued after more than two inches of snow accumulated within city limits.

On Sunday, Jan. 13:

●  Police responded for a welfare check at 10:31 p.m. in the 1400 block of West 3rd Avenue.

On Monday, Jan. 14:

●  A Brodhead boy, 16, was cited for an expired vehicle registration at 2:48 p.m. in the 2400 block of West 5th Avenue.

On Tuesday, Jan. 15:

●  A Janesville man, 42, was cited for driving with a suspended license and an expired vehicle registration at 2:46 p.m. in the 2400 block of East 9th Avenue.

●  A Janesville woman, 57, was cited for speeding at 3:42 p.m. in the 400 block of 1st Street.

●  A Coal Valley man, 67, was cited for speeding at 5:18 p.m. in the 500 block of East 9th Avenue.

●  A Beloit woman, 23, was cited for failure to stop at a stop sign at 9:13 p.m. in the 100 block of East 9th Avenue.

●  A vehicle that had been running for hours with its lights on was reported at 9:29 p.m. in the 1200 block of 17th Street. Police made contact with the owner, who had forgotten about it running outside.

On Wednesday, Jan. 16:

●  A 17-year-old girl was cited for underage tobacco possession at 1:47 p.m. in the 2500 block of West 5th Avenue.

●  An Albany man, 30, was cited for not having lights on his trailer at 8:17 p.m. in the 100 block of East 9th Avenue.

On Thursday, Jan. 17:

●  A 17-year-old boy was cited for possession of THC and drug paraphernalia at 12:02 p.m. in the 2500 block of West 5th Avenue.

●  A Beloit woman, 28, was cited for an expired vehicle registration at 2:49 p.m. in the 1100 block of 21st Street.

●  A Monroe man, 21, was cited for possession of THC and drug paraphernalia and issued a written warning for failure to display license plates at 3:41 p.m. in the 400 block of East 9th Avenue.

On Friday, Jan. 18:

●  A 17-year-old was cited for possession of THC and drug paraphernalia at 1:31 p.m. in the 2500 block of West 5th Avenue.

●  Disorderly conduct was reported at 4:35 p.m. in the 1000 block of West Exchange Street.

●  Police responded for a welfare check at 4:44 p.m. in the 700 block of 1st Center Avenue. Police were unable to make contact. The subject was not at the residence.

On Saturday, Jan. 19:

●  A Brodhead man, 39, was arrested on charges of operating while intoxicated, speeding and failure to have vehicle insurance, as a result of a vehicle crash at 2:04 p.m. in the N2900 block of County GG.


Darlington Police

DARLINGTON — Weston H. Ritchie, 22, Darlington, was cited for parking in a handicapped parking space at 5:59 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 17, following a complaint at the Darlington Municipal Building.

●  Milton J. Pena-Velasquez, 16, Darlington, was cited for driving without a valid license (second offense) and not having reasonably clean vehicle windows at 1:13 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 19, on Ervin Johnson Drive.

●  Mark A. Harris, 55, Darlington, was arrested on a charge of driving with a revoked license at 12:07 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 20, on West Mary Street.

●  Anthony T. Harris, 29, Dubuque, Iowa, was arrested on felony warrants through the State of Iowa at 2:53 a.m. Monday, Jan. 21, following contact at a residence on Louisa Street.

●  Nelson D. Amaya-Perea, 30, Darlington, was cited for driving with a suspended license and no vehicle insurance at 6:23 p.m. Monday, Jan. 21, on Galena Street.

●  Tyler J. Meyer, 33, Shullsburg, was cited for disorderly conduct Tuesday, Jan. 22, following an investigation into a Dec. 13 incident at a local hair salon.


New Glarus Police

NEW GLARUS — On Monday, Jan. 14:

●  A suspicious vehicle was reported at 9:52 a.m. in the 1400 block of Wis. 69. Everything checked out, and there was no criminal activity.

On Tuesday, Jan. 15:

●  A disturbance in the alleyway was reported at 12:10 a.m. in the 500 block of 1st Street.

●  Police were requested at 3:15 p.m. to assist the Green County Sheriff’s Office with a search warrant in the village.

●  Police followed up on a report of an aggressive dog at 7:33 p.m. in the 100 block of 10th Avenue.

On Wednesday, Jan. 16:

●  Suspicious activity was reported at 2:27 p.m. in the 700 block of 12th Avenue.

●  Allison R. Turner, 36, New Glarus, was cited for not wearing a seatbelt at 3:36 p.m. in the 700 block of 1st Street.

●  Police removed a tree branch from the street at 7:30 p.m.  in the 1100 block of 5th Street.

On Thursday, Jan. 17:

●  Police issued 17 alternate-side parking citations throughout the village.

●  Shelby J. Riley Jr., 31, Monticello, was cited for driving a vehicle with illegally tinted windows at 4 p.m. near County H and Wis. 69.

On Friday, Jan. 18:

●  Police were requested at 11:21 a.m. to assist the Belleville Police Department with a battery case in Belleville.

●  A suspicious person was reported at 2:25 p.m. in the 500 block of 14th Avenue.

●  An assault that occurred in the village was reported at 3 p.m.

On Saturday, Jan. 19:

●  Some found property at Roy’s Market was reported at 2:30 p.m. Police attempted to contact the owner to return the property.

●  At 11:24 p.m., police investigated a vehicle crash that occurred in the 800 block of Wis. 69.

●  Police responded for a welfare check at 11:59 p.m. in the 1200 block of 5th Street.

On Sunday, Jan. 20:

●  Police assisted a person with a vehicle issue at 1 p.m. in the 10 block of Industrial Drive.

●  Two vehicles parked in the 600 block of 2nd Street were cited at 1:48 p.m. for 24-hour parking violations.

●  Marcelo Rios Solis, 43, Madison, was cited for driving with a revoked license and no vehicle insurance at 6:04 p.m. in the 1100 block of Wis. 69, following a traffic complaint.

DARLINGTON — On Thursday, Jan. 10:

●  Deputies responded for an alarm at 3:21 a.m on Miner Way in Shullsburg.

●  A deputy responded for a welfare check at 4:31 a.m. on West Milwaukee Street in Argyle.

●  Suspicious activity was reported at 7:43 a.m. on River End Road, Town of Darlington.

●  Callie G. Bristow, 25, Platteville, was cited for driving without proof of vehicle insurance at 10:14 a.m. on Wis. 81, Town of Darlington.

●  Tyler D. Saunders, 18, Warren, was cited for driving without proof of vehicle insurance at 1:29 p.m. on County KK, Town of Gratiot.

●  Richard T. Scace, 54, Warren, was cited for speeding and driving without proof of vehicle insurance at 2:29 p.m. on County KK, Town of Gratiot.

●  Luke A. Cernek, 32, South Wayne, was cited for driving without proof of vehicle insurance at 2:53 p.m. on White School Road, Town of Gratiot.

●  Martin C. Johnson, 63, Warren, was cited for speeding at 3:49 p.m. on County KK, Town of Gratiot.

●  Deputies responded to assist a citizen at 5:08 p.m. on Wis. 11, Town of Gratiot.

On Friday, Jan. 11:

●  Deputies responded for a commercial alarm at 3:32 a.m. on Miner Way in Shullsburg.

●  A deputy responded at 3:59 a.m. to Wis. 23, Town of Willow Springs, to assist the Iowa County Sheriff’s Office.

●  Louis M. Burris, 71, Darlington, was cited for speeding and passing in a no-passing zone at 5:08 a.m. on Wis. 23, Town of Willow Springs.

●  Nathania K. Kummer, 26, Argyle, was cited for driving without vehicle insurance at 7:43 a.m. on Wis. 81, Town of Argyle.

●  Scott J. Wedig, 44, Argyle, was cited for driving without vehicle insurance at 7:58 a.m. on West Milwaukee Street in Argyle.

●  A deputy assisted with traffic control at 9:36 a.m. on West Water Street in Shullsburg.
