Monroe Police

●  Officers located a vehicle parked in the intersection at 7:25 p.m. Jan. 14 on West 8th Street and 1st Avenue. Alfredo Evangelista Vazquez, 34, Monroe, was arrested on a first-offense charge of operating while intoxicated. He was also cited for driving without a valid license, his second offense. He was released to a responsible party. 

●  Christopher J. Fritsch, 27, Sterling, Illinois, was arrested on a first-offense charge of operating while intoxicated at 1:07 a.m. Jan. 16 on 8th Street and Wis. 69. He was also cited for operating with a prohibited alcohol concentration, possession of THC and stopping/standing vehicle in prohibited areas. He was released to a responsible party.


Brodhead Police

BRODHEAD — For the week of Jan. 10 to Jan. 16, police performed 39 security checks, 34 citizen assists, 12 assists of other agencies, 11 follow-ups to incidents, 12 vehicle registration and three traffic stops; responded to 22 calls for service and reported six EMS calls, 13 911 or BEEMS (Brodhead Elderly Emergency Monitoring System) calls and one fire call. No detox or mental health transports were reported. 

On Jan. 11: 

●  Fraud was reported at 2:55 p.m. in the 1500 block of East 3rd Avenue. Police advised to not give out any information it was a scam. 

●  Suspicious activity was reported at 11:27 p.m. in the 700 block of 21st Street. Police patrolled area and found nothing suspicious. 

●  A gas drive-off was reported at 3:06 p.m. Jan. 12 in the 1100 block of 1st Center Avenue. It was an error; subject had paid for the gas. 

On Jan. 14: 

●  Truancy was reported at 8:54 a.m. in the 1400 block of 21st Street. Parent was contacted and a warning was issued. 

●  A juvenile was cited for truancy at 10:25 a.m. in the 2500 block of West 5th Avenue. 

●  A juvenile was cited for underage possession of tobacco at 10:44 a.m. in the 2500 block of West 5th Avenue. 

●  Theft was reported at 2:46 p.m. in the 2400 block of 1st Center Avenue. The item was paid for prior to police contact and no charges were pressed. 

On Jan. 15: 

●  A citation was issued for a winter parking violation at 3:09 a.m. in the 1000 block of West 2nd Avenue. 

●  A vehicle in the ditch was reported at 1:14 p.m. in the 1100 block of East 9th Avenue. Police checked area and did not locate the vehicle. 

●  Four 18-19 year-old Chicago men were cited for possession of marijuana, possess/manufacture/deliver drug paraphernalia and underage possession/consumption at 7:03 p.m. in the 400 block of 1st Center Avenue. Additional charges are being referred to the Green County District Attorney. 


Lafayette County Sheriff

DARLINGTON — On Dec. 20:

●  Deputies responded for a disorderly dispute at 1:57 p.m. on Country Club Road, Town of Darlington. It was a contractor-type dispute at the golf course and is pending investigation.

●  A civil dispute was reported at 2:02 p.m. on Summit Road, Town of Shullsburg.

●  Deputies responded for a citizen assist at 3:29 p.m. on County I, Town of New Diggings.

●  An ATV complaint was reported at 4:40 p.m. on School Street in Gratiot.

●  Jose Almer-Gonzalez, 26, Shullsburg, was cited for driving without a valid license at 6:33 p.m. on Wis. 81, Town of Darlington.

●  Livestock on the roadway was reported at 8:11 p.m. on Landon Road, Town of Belmont.

●  A 911 misdial was reported at 9:51 p.m. on County Shop Road, Town of Darlington.

On Dec. 21: 

●  Deputies assisted Grant County Sheriff’s Office at 12:59 a.m. on East Main Street in Benton. 

●  A parking problem was reported at 10:43 a.m. on County F, Town of Fayette. 

●  Markus W. Meier, 60, South Wayne, was cited for failure to wear seatbelt at 12:01 p.m. on County N, Town of Wayne. 

●  Tiffany L. Meier, 30, Cassville, was arrested at 3:19 p.m. on a warrant. She was jailed. 

●  Suspicious activity was reported at 7:33 p.m. on County F, Town of Blanchard. 

●  A deputy responded to check welfare at 7:44 p.m. on South Mound Avenue in Belmont. 

●  An animal bite was reported at 7:46 p.m. on Ames Road, Town of Darlington. 

On Dec. 22: 

●  An animal bite was reported at 4:58 p.m. on North Van Buren Street in Benton. 

●  A domestic dispute was reported at 5:41 p.m. on Colfax Street in Argyle. Lonnie D. Severson, 52, Argyle, was arrested for disorderly conduct and a probation violation. He was jailed. 

●  An injured animal was reported at 5:46 p.m. on County W, Town of Benton. 

●  Livestock on the roadway was reported at 6:48 p.m. on County Z, Town of Darlington. 

On Dec. 23: 

●  A deputy responded to check welfare at 12:11 p.m. on County I, Town of New Diggings. 

●  Jose M. Lanza-Salgado, 36, Darlington, was cited for driving without a valid license, first offense, and no proof of vehicle insurance at 1:21 p.m. on Wis. 23, Town of Darlington. 

●  A 911 misdial was reported at 5:20 p.m. on Truman Road, Town of Kendall and at 9:04 p.m. on Washington Street in Belmont. 

●  A deputy assisted Platteville Police Department at 5:42 p.m. on County XX, Town of Belmont. 

●  Tanner D. Paulson, 17, Belmont, was cited for speeding at 7:30 p.m. on East Platteville Avenue in Belmont.
