Monroe Police
MONROE — A disturbance was reported at 4:47 p.m. Jan. 4 at a residence in the 3000 block of 13th Street. Wade J. Kosharek, 39, Monroe, was arrested for disorderly conduct and battery under Wisconsin’s Domestic Violence laws. Probation and Parole placed a hold on him for the incident. He was jailed.
● Two subjects attempting to enter an unoccupied vehicle was reported at 12:41 a.m. Jan. 5 in the 1300 block of 21st Street. A 14-year-old from Monroe was cited for prowling, obstructing an officer and curfew. A 15-year-old was also cited for curfew, prowling and possession of tobacco. Ian M. Schultz, 23, Monroe, was arrested at 8:57 a.m. Jan. 11 in the 400 block of 17th Avenue in Monroe on a probation hold issued by the Wisconsin Department of Corrections. He was jailed.
● A disturbance was reported at 3:19 p.m. Jan. 7 at a business in the 900 block of 20th Avenue. Christopher T. Kovacs, 37, Waterloo, was arrested on charges of disorderly conduct, obstructing officers, resisting officers and possession of THC. He was also arrested on a hold issued by the Wisconsin Department of Corrections for a parole violation. He was jailed.
● Matthew J. Moede, 42, Monroe, was arrested at 9:29 a.m. Jan. 9 in the 900 block of 20th Street on six counts of violating a harassment restraining order. He was released after posting bond.
Monticello Police
MONTICELLO — On Jan. 2:
● A dog at large was reported at 2:22 p.m. in the 100 block of North Main Street. The owner retrieved the dog. Green County Sheriff’s Office assisted.
● Harassment was reported at 12:24 p.m. in Monticello. Investigation is ongoing.
On Jan. 3:
● Vandalism was reported at 12:52 p.m. in Monticello. Investigation is ongoing.
● Two juveniles playing with a fire hydrant was reported at 4:10 p.m. in the 100 block of Staedtler Avenue. The juveniles were advised not to play with the hydrant.
● Police assisted with traffic control for Monticello First Response at 4:18 p.m. in rural Monticello.
On Jan. 4:
● An animal complaint was reported at 10:42 a.m. in the 700 block of Washington Street. Owner was advised of village ordinance regarding their responsibility to pick up animal waste.
● An activate hold up alarm was reported at 4:54 p.m. in the 100 block of Wis. 69. Investigation revealed alarm was accidental.
● A fire alarm was reported at 9:33 p.m. in the 300 block of South Main Street. Everything was fine and alarm was reset.
On Jan. 5:
● A 911 hang-up was reported at 9:22 a.m. in the 500 block of Montesian Court.
● Police located a disabled vehicle at 8:10 p.m. on Wis. 69 and Cemetery Road. Police assisted with traffic control until owner removed vehicle.
● Police responded to an EMS call at 11:51 p.m. within the village.
On Jan. 6:
● Vandalism was reported at 11:07 a.m. in the 200 block of East Highland Avenue. Investigation is ongoing.
● Police assisted the Green County Sheriff’s Office at 7:34 p.m. in the village.
On Jan. 7:
● A civil issue was reported at 9:11 a.m., 10:41 a.m., 12:11 p.m., 12:14 p.m., 1:25 p.m. and at 3:14 p.m. in the 500 block of South Main Street.
● A 911 call was reported at 3:50 p.m. in the 500 block of South Main Street. Investigation found it to be a civil issue. Caller was warned of unlawful use of 911 and would be charged next time.
● Police responded to check welfare at 4:32 p.m. in the 500 block of South Main Street. Everything was fine.
Brodhead Police
BRODHEAD — For the week of Jan. 3 to Jan. 9, police performed 34 security checks, 13 citizen assists, six assists of other agencies, 10 follow-ups to incidents, 12 vehicle registration and six traffic stops; responded to 37 calls for service and reported eight EMS calls, 12 911 or BEEMS (Brodhead Elderly Emergency Monitoring System) calls and two fire calls. No detox or mental health transports were reported.
On Jan. 3:
● Suspicious activity involving an unwanted subject making contact after telling them to leave was reported at 11:52 a.m. in the 2100 block of 1st Center Avenue. A verbal warning was issued for subject to stay away from complainant.
● Verbal disorderly conduct was reported at 1:09 p.m. in a residential building in the 700 block of 17th Street. This remains under investigation.
● Suspicious activity involving a subject going in and out of vacant house was reported at 1:58 p.m. in the 100 block of East 3rd Avenue. Contact was made and found to be a repairman.
● Verbal and physical disorderly conduct was reported at 7:29 p.m. at a commercial building in the 1100 block of 1st Center Avenue. Subject left before police arrival.
● A Janesville man, 41, was arrested at 5:47 a.m. Jan. 4 in the 1900 block of East 9th Avenue on a felony warrant issues by Racine County. He was also cited for a first-offense operating while intoxicated, driving while suspended and driving left of center. Additional charges are being referred to Green County District Attorney.
On Jan. 5:
● A dog at large was reported at 3:26 p.m. in the 500 block of 10th Street. Dog was picked up before police arrival.
● Suspicious activity involving an occupied vehicle in lot after hours was reported at 11:52 p.m. in the 700 block of 21st Street. Contact was made and found to be driver stopped to make a phone call.
● A Brodhead woman, 42, was arrested at 4:38 p.m. Jan. 7 at a residential building in the 300 block of 2nd Street following a report of verbal and physical domestic disorderly conduct. Charges are being referred to the Green County District Attorney.
On Jan. 8:
● Suspicious activity involving an open door was reported at 1:20 a.m. in the 1100 block of East 2nd Avenue. Police found nothing suspicious and secured doors.
● A scam was reported at 12:53 p.m. to the Brodhead Police Department. Subject was selling item online and received a check for more then selling price and told to send difference back. Police instructed not to cash check as it was a scam.
● A barking dog was reported at 3:25 p.m. in the 1300 block of West 4th Avenue. Police found the dog had been taken inside.
● Suspicious activity involving an unoccupied vehicle in lot was reported at 10:34 p.m. in the 1200 block of 25th Street. Police found nothing suspicious.
On Jan. 9:
● A gas drive-off was reported at 10:17 a.m. in the 1100 block of 1st Center Avenue. This remains under investigation.
● Theft was reported at 11:02 a.m. in the 1600 block of 1st Center Avenue. This remains under investigation
Green County Sheriff
MONROE — Tyler J. Flannery, 21, Brodhead, was cited for speeding, possession of THC and drug paraphernalia at 4:15 p.m. Jan. 5 in the N4900 block of Wis. 104, Town of Decatur.
● Deputies located a vehicle stuck in the median at 3:49 a.m. Jan. 10 in the N3000 block of Wis. 81, Town of Monroe. Clifford J. Streich, 30, Monroe, was arrested on a first-offense charge of operating while under the influence. He was also cited for possession of THC, failure to maintain control of vehicle and possession of open intoxicants. He was released pending court. His vehicle was towed.
Lafayette County Sheriff
DARLINGTON — On Dec. 20:
● A noise complaint concerning a horn activated on a car was reported at 2:48 a.m. on East Milwaukee Street in Argyle. A deputy assisted with stopping it.
● Alan D. Schaller II, 40, Muscoda, was arrested on a warrant at 9:10 a.m. following a traffic stop on West Mound Road, Town of Platteville. He was also cited for driving with a suspended license, no proof of vehicle insurance and failure to install an ignition interlock device. He was booked at the jail and later released on bond.
● A 911 misdial was reported at 10:15 a.m. on Dobbs Road, Town of Darlington.
