Brodhead Police

BRODHEAD — For the week of Dec. 1-7, police performed 35 security checks, 40 citizen assists, five assists of other agencies, 12 follow-ups to incidents and 11 vehicle registrations; responded to 20 calls for service, seven EMS calls, one fire call and eight 911 or BEEMS (Brodhead Elderly Emergency Monitoring System) calls; and made four traffic stops. No mental health or detox transports were reported. 

On Sunday, Dec. 1:

●  A Brodhead woman, 23, was arrested on a charge of disorderly conduct and a 21-year-old Brodhead man was referred to the Green County District Attorney for a charge of disorderly conduct following a domestic abuse complaint at 5:15 a.m. in the 1500 block of 1st Center Avenue.

●  A complaint of cattle in the roadway was reported at 1:39 p.m. in the 1000 block of East 9th Avenue. No animals were located.

On Monday, Dec. 2:

●  An unregistered vehicle was reported at 3:36 p.m. in the 900 block of 19th Street. A 10-day notice was issued.

●  Harassment involving text messages was reported at 4:54 p.m. in the 300 block of 14th Street. Police made contact, and the matter was resolved.

On Tuesday, Dec. 3:

●  A barking dog was reported at 12:09 a.m. in the 2400 block of 1st Center Avenue. The dog was located.

●  Two teenagers were warned for truancy at about 9:50 a.m. in the 2500 block of West 5th Avenue.

●  Disorderly conduct involving threatening comments was reported at 7:04 p.m. in the 300 block of East 10th Avenue. A verbal warning was issued.

On Wednesday, Dec. 4:

●  A gas drive-off was reported at 6:05 a.m. in the 2400 block of 1st Center Avenue. Police made contact, and the person was returning to pay for the fuel.

●  Harassing text messages were reported at 1:19 p.m. in the 2500 block of West 5th Avenue. Police issued a warning.

●  A speeding vehicle was reported at 5:01 p.m. in the 2400 block of 1st Center Avenue. The vehicle was not located.

●  A theft of packages was reported at 5:44 p.m. in the 1400 block of 1st Center Avenue.

On Thursday, Dec. 5:

●  A dog at large was reported at 11:22 a.m. in the 1000 block of West 3rd Avenue. The dog was not located.

●  A vehicle crossing the centerline was reported at 4:52 p.m. in the 100 block of East 9th Avenue. The vehicle was not located.

On Friday, Dec. 6:

●  A Beloit man, 41, was cited for driving without a valid license at 4:53 a.m. in the 300 block of 23rd Street.

●  A Brodhead woman, 34, was cited for allowing a dog to roam at large and not having her dog licensed at 9:23 a.m. in the 300 block of 12th Street.

●  Illegal dumping was reported at 3:36 p.m. in the 600 block of East 4th Avenue.

●  Dogs left in a vehicle were reported at 9:40 p.m. in the 900 block of 10th Street. Police issued a warning.

On Saturday, Dec. 7:

●  A vehicle taken without permission was reported at 1:29 p.m. in the 1400 block of East 4th Avenue.

●  A vehicle being driven all over the road was reported at 3:17 p.m. in the 100 block of East 9th Avenue. Police issued a warning.


Monroe Police

MONROE — Samuel J. T. Hughes, 19, Monroe, was cited for underage drinking in the 900 block of 16th Avenue at 12:41 a.m. Friday, Dec. 6.

●  Officers stopped a vehicle in the 1100 block of 13th Avenue at 2:33 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 7. One passenger, Noah L. Streicher, 22, Stockton, Illinois, was arrested on charges of possessing marijuana and drug paraphernalia, then booked and released. Another passenger, J’Son J. Williamson, 23, Freeport, was cited for possessing drug paraphernalia. The driver, a 21-year-old Monroe woman, was warned for having an expired vehicle registration.


Green County Sheriff

MONROE — Julio Hernandez Gomez, 23, Monroe, was arrested on a first-offense charge of operating while under the influence of alcohol after the sheriff’s office received a report at about 5 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 5, of a vehicle traveling left of center and being driven into oncoming traffic in the area of Park Road and Ten Eyck  Road, Town of Decatur. Deputies located the vehicle in the N4100 block of Decatur Sylvester Road. Hernandez Gomez was also cited for driving without a valid license and operating left of center. He was released pending court.

On Friday, Dec. 6:

●  Terry J. Kohnke, 20, Davis, Illinois, was cited for possessing THC, possessing drug paraphernalia and failure to obey a traffic sign in a construction zone at 6:35 a.m. at Wis. 11 and County KK, Town of Sylvester.

●  Bradley J. Rear, 56, Monroe, was arrested at 8:14 a.m. at the Green County Probation and Parole Office on a probation hold placed on him by the Wisconsin Department of Corrections. He was jailed.

●  Mackenzi T. Jelinek, 19, Janesville, was cited for failure to stop at a stop sign, driving with a suspended license and possession of drug paraphernalia at 9:11 p.m. at County C and County E, Town of Brooklyn. Jelinek and her two passengers, Brittney L. Anglemyer, 19, Beloit, and Jacob D. Morrison, 23, Janesville, were all cited for having open intoxicants in a motor vehicle.
