Green County Sheriff

MONROE — On Aug. 6:

•Jose Luz Guzman-Caberera Jr, 57, Albany, was arrested at 5:34 p.m. at a residence in the 400 block of North 5th Avenue in Albany. Guzman-Caberera was arrested on a warrant through Green County for failure to pay fine – 4th degree sexual assault. Guzman-Caberera was transported to Green County Jail where he posted the cash bond and was released. 

•Domestic Abuse in a vehicle was reported at 7 p.m. in the W5900 block of Wisconsin 59 in Sylvester. Shyann A. Harry, 18, Albany, was arrested for domestic disorderly conduct. Harry was transported to the Green County Jail where bond was posted. Harry was released pending court. 


Monroe Police

MONROE – On Aug. 6: 

•Domestic abuse was reported at 5:20 p.m. in a residence on the 2700 block of 8 ½ Street. Lisa M. Valentin, 43, Monroe, was arrested and confined to the Green County Jail on substantial battery charges, domestic related. 


New Glarus Police

NEW GLARUS – On July 30:

•A dog locked in a car was reported at 2:25 p.m. on the 700 block of 5th Street in New Glarus. When police arrived, the animal was fine.

•Police responded to a 911 misdial at 2:08 p.m. 

•Police responded to a medical call at 3:25 p.m. on the 700 block of Haslen Drive.

•Police moved brush from the road at 7:06 p.m. in the 200 block of 10th Avenue. 

•A push mower that fell from a trailer was reported at 9:12 p.m. between New Glarus and Browntown. 

•A speeding car was reported at 9:17 p.m. on 6th Avenue that turned southbound onto Wisconsin 69. The vehicle was not located.

On July 31:

•Police responded at 9:38 a.m. to a 911 misdial on the 900 block of 2nd Street. 

•Cody A. Spurling, 26, Fitchburg, and Eric C. Dudley, 27, Fitchburg, were cited for theft of property at 11:35 a.m. on the 700 block of Railroad Street. 

•Police responded to a vehicle unlock at 12:00 p.m. on the 100 block of 2nd street.

•Police responded to a 911 misdial at 12:48 p.m. on County W and Elmer Road.

•Police responded to a welfare check at 12:55 p.m. on the 800 block of Wisconsin 69. The subject was fine.

•Public nuisance was reported at 3:08 p.m. on the 1300 block of 3rd street when juveniles were playing basketball and a ball hit a vehicle. 

•Police responded to a medical call at 5:39 p.m. on the 600 block of 2nd avenue.

On Aug. 1:

•Police responded to a medical alarm at 8:13 a.m. on the 800 block of 5th street. Everything was fine.

•A gas drive off was reported at 10:05 a.m. on Wisconsin 69. The incident is still under investigation.

•Police responded to a welfare check at 3:08 p.m. on the 900 block of Wisconsin 69 for a possible intoxicated subject. The subject was highly intoxicated and taken into protective custody. The subject was medically cleared at the Monroe Emergency Room and then transported to Tellurian in Madison. The subject received a citation for open intoxicants in public. 

On Aug. 2: 

•An abandoned bicycle was reported at 8:15 a.m. on the 300 block of 14th avenue. 

•Police assisted the Green county Sheriff at 2:11 p.m. in the N8800 block of Wisconsin 69 with a vehicle in the ditch. 

•At 2:48 p.m. police recovered a wallet that was turned into a business in the 200 block of Industrial Drive.

•Police assisted the Green County Sheriff’s Office at 5:20 p.m. with an animal complaint on County J at County H. 

•Steven S. Koch, 22, Monroe, was cited for speeding at 7:21 p.m. for speeding in the 400 block of 6th avenue. 

•Police investigated a sexual assault situation at 7:53 p.m. that occurred on the 100 block of 4th Avenue. The incident is still under investigation.

On Aug. 3: 

•Police responded to a lockout at 4:22 p.m. on the 1100 block of Wisconsin 69.

•Police removed a sign at 6:45 p.m. on Wisconsin 69 that had been in the area for over two weeks. 

•Police came across a damaged lock box to a building at 6:57 p.m. on First Street. Everything in the building appeared fine and contact was made with the building owner. 

On Aug. 4:

•Bryce P. Eichelkraut, 18, Monticello, and Malik T. Caldwell, 22, New Glarus, were cited for seatbelt violations at 11:40 a.m. on 6th Avenue at 1st Street. 

•Police responded to a 911 misdial at 2:20 p.m. on the 300 block of 2nd Street. 

•Police responded to a vehicle unlock at 4:26 p.m. on the 1200 block of Highway 69.

•Marilyn H. Lein, 85, Stoughton, was cited for operating a motor vehicle without insurance at 5:26 p.m. after being stopped on 5th Street at 4th Avenue for an equipment violation. 

On Aug. 5: 

•Police responded to a 911 misdial at 2:08 p.m. on the 600 block of 2nd Avenue. 


Brodhead Police

BRODHEAD – For the week of July 30 to Aug. 3, Brodhead Police reported 29 calls for service, 10 follow up to incidents, 17 vehicle registrations,  18 citizen assists/community policing, 46 security checks, 2 assist other agencies, 8 traffic stops, 13 911 calls, 1 fire call, 8 EMS calls, and 1 detoxification transport.

On July 30: 

•Theft was reported at 12:08 p.m. on the 1600 block of 1st Center Avenue. The matter remains under investigation.

•A code violation was reported at 12:19 p.m. on the 1200 block of 1st Center Avenue where signs were placed on city property. Contact was made and a warning was issued.

•Police responded to a parking complaint at 10:02 p.m. on the 300 block of East 9th Avenue. A warning was issued.

On July 31:

•Harassment was reported at 10:49 a.m. on the 1000 block of 21st Street. A subject was receiving unwanted text messages/ The matter remains under investigation. 

On Aug. 1: 

•A code violation was reported at 6:26 a.m. at the 100 block of 4th Street. A truck was in violation of the Heavy Truck Parking Ordinance. Contact was made and a warning was issued. 

On Aug. 3: 

•Theft was reported at 6:01 p.m. at the 1200 block of West 2nd Avenue. A street sign and pole were taken from the area. The matter remains under investigation. 

•A 22-year-old Brodhead man was cited at 10:44 p.m. in the 1000 block of 1st Center Avenue for fail to yield right of way at stop sign and no proof of insurance.
