Monticello Police

MONTICELLO — On April 2: 

●  Suspicious activity was reported at 2:32 p.m. in the 200 block of North Kennedy Street. Extra patrol was requested. Investigation is ongoing. 

●  Police assisted Monticello First Response and Green County EMS with a residential medical emergency at 4:23 p.m. in Monticello. 

●  A suspicious person was reported at 9:48 p.m. in the 100 block of South Garfield Street. 

●  Police assisted Monticello First Response and Green County EMS with a residential medical emergency at 10:06 p.m. in Monticello. 

On April 3: 

●  Two dogs running at large was reported at 8:15 a.m. in the 300 block of South Main Street. Prior to police arrival a truck picked up the dogs. 

●  Police assisted with traffic control for Monticello Fire First Response at 11:45 a.m. on North Main Street and Coates Avenue. 

●  Matthew J. Brown, New Glarus, was cited for driving with a revoked license at 1:28 p.m. on Wis. 69 and West Coates Avenue. 

●  Police assisted with traffic control for Monticello Fire Department at 2:59 p.m. on North Main Street and Coates Avenue. 

●  Police assisted a motorist with directions at 9:34 p.m. 

●  Police assisted Monticello Fire First Response and Green County EMS with a residential medical emergency at 9:03 p.m. April 5 in Monticello. 

On April 6: 

●  A possible sick raccoon in a garage was reported at 5:42 p.m. in the 400 block of North Monroe Street. The raccoon was removed. 

●  Police assisted New Glarus police with a disturbance at 9:03 p.m. in New Glarus. 

On April 7: 

●  No injuries were reported from a semi crash at 9:46 a.m. on North Main Street and East Coates Avenue. The semi-tractor/trailer hit a stop sign. It was then parked at a local business. Green County Highway assisted with fixing the stop sign. 

●  Police responded at 2:54 p.m. to check welfare. Everything was fine. 

●  Police assisted the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department with a death notification at 10:37 p.m. at an undisclosed address in Monticello.  


Monroe Police

MONROE — Tristan J. Wilde, 22, Monroe, was arrested on a charge of operating a motor vehicle with a prohibited controlled substance, possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia at 11:34 p.m. April 5 in the 2000 block of 13th Street. He was also cited for operating with a prohibited controlled substance, improper stop at stop sign and municipal citations for possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. He was released to a responsible party. 

●  John Paul Hughes, 24, Bluefield, West Virginia, was transported by Green County EMS to the Monroe Clinic Emergency Room at 12:01 a.m. April 6 after suffering from an overdose at the Super 8 motel in Monroe. He was treated and released. He was arrested on a charge of possession of THC. He was released with a municipal citation. 

On April 7: 

●  Jonathan J. Leck, 33, Monroe, was arrested on a charge of disorderly conduct under Wisconsin Domestic Abuse laws at 8:45 a.m. in the 2200 block of 8th Street. He was released pending court. 

●  Thomas C. Ekena, 51, Monroe, was arrested on a warrant through the Department of Corrections at 5:10 p.m. in the 1100 block of 19th Street. He was also issued a municipal citation for possession of marijuana. He was jailed. 

●  Mark A. Zakula, 67, Monroe, was arrested for violating conditions of his bond at 7:01 p.m. on 12th Street and 17th Avenue after officers observed him fall off his bicycle. He was jailed.

●  Roman R. Hernandez, 52, Monroe, was arrested on a charge of sexual assault of a child and exposing genitals at 4:16 p.m. April 8 in the 700 block of 10th Avenue Court as a result of an ongoing investigation. He was jailed. 

On April 9: 

●  Robert A. Martinez Sr., 64, Monroe, was arrested on an outstanding warrant through Freeport Police Department at 10:40 a.m. in the 400 block of 17th Avenue. He was jailed. 

●  Mark A. Sanders, 57, Monroe, was arrested on a fourth-offense charge of operating while intoxicated and felony possession of THC at 7:09 p.m. in the 2800 block of 6th Street. He was issued a citation for improper stopping/standing of a vehicle, possession of open intoxicants in vehicle and driving without a valid license. He was jailed. 

●  Amanda J. Wild, 30, Monroe, and Amber R. Leopold, 40, South Wayne, were arrested on a charge of retail theft at 7:18 p.m. in the 300 block of 6th Avenue West. They were issued municipal citations and released pending court.


Brodhead Police

BRODHEAD —  For the week of April 4 to April 10, police performed 28 security checks, 21 citizen assists, nine assists of other agencies, 19 follow-ups to incidents, 24 vehicle registration and seven traffic stops; responded to 43 calls for service and reported eight EMS calls, 17 911 or BEEMS (Brodhead Elderly Emergency Monitoring System) calls and four fire calls. No detox or mental health transports were reported. 

On April 4: 

●  A Monroe man, 42, was cited for speeding at 3:57 p.m. in the 600 block of 1st Street. 

●  A subject burning was reported at 4:31 p.m. in the 1400 block of East 9th Avenue. A warning was issued. 

●  A traffic complaint involving squealing tires was reported at 8:22 p.m. in the 500 block of 1st Center Avenue. A warning was issued for disorderly conduct with a vehicle. 

●  A vehicle in violation of the city’s junk vehicle ordinance was reported at 8:51 p.m. in the 500 block of West 2nd Avenue. A warning was issued. 

On April 5: 

●  Trespassing was reported at 8:08 a.m. at a business in the 1100 block of 1st Center Avenue. A warning was issued. 

●  Littering involving an ashtray of cigarette butts dumped in the roadway was reported at 5:16 p.m. in the 700 block of 17th Street. Offending party was not located. 

On April 7: 

●  Suspicious activity involving a vehicle stopped on tracks was reported at 1:18 a.m. in the 1100 block of 1st Center Avenue. Officers found it to be an employee inspecting the tracks. 

● A Brodhead man, 36, was cited for truancy at 11:24 a.m. in the 2100 block of West 9th Avenue.  

●  Suspicious activity involving a scam letter was reported at 1:39 p.m. in the 2200 block of West 4th Avenue. Subject advised not to give out any personal information. 

●  A dog at large was reported at 2:23 p.m. in the 300 block of East 8th Avenue. Dog returned prior to police arrival. 

On April 8: 

●  A subject receiving scam calls was reported at 5:53 p.m. They were advised to not give out any personal information. 

●  A weapons offense involving shots fired at an occupied vehicle was reported at 9:27 p.m. in the 400 block of East 2nd Avenue. A 19-year-old Edgerton man was arrested on a charge of recklessly endangering safety. 

On April 9: 

●  A gas drive-off was reported at 2:35 p.m. in the 1100 block of 1st Center Avenue. This remains under investigation. 

●  Suspicious activity involving a subject yelling at cars was reported at 11:11 p.m. in the 500 block of 11th Street. Officers were unable to locate the subject. 

On April 10: 

●  Suspicious activity involving a vehicle in lot after hours was reported at 4:28 a.m. in the 2500 block of West 5th Avenue. The vehicle was found to be unoccupied and nothing suspicious. 

●  Harassment was reported at 5:45 p.m. This remains under investigation. 


Green County Sheriff

MONROE — On April 5:  

●  Hayden J. Arneson, 21, Monticello, was arrested on a probation hold at 2:09 p.m. at the Green County Probation and Parole Office in Monroe. He was jailed. 

●  Carrie M. Snelson, 41, Beloit, was arrested on two felony warrants at 4:11 p.m. at a residence in the W600 block of Wis. 59, Town of Albany. She was jailed. 

●  Ryan C. McNett, 45, Juda, was arrested on a first-offense charge of operating under the influence at 10:11 p.m. April 6 in the W5200 block of Wis. 11, Town of Monroe. He was released pending court. 

●  Nicholas A. Puckett, 21, Sun Prairie, was arrested on a warrant for failure to pay fine at 9:42 p.m. April 9 in the N7100 block of McDermott Road, Town of Albany after a report of suspicious vehicles. He was also cited for possession of THC. He was released after posting bond. 

●  Tony E. Zimmerman, 46, New Glarus, was arrested on a charge of battery and domestic abuse related disorderly conduct at 4:22 p.m. April 10 in the N7400 block of High Prairie Lane, Town of New Glarus. He was jailed pending bond posting or court. New Glarus Police Department assisted.

 

Lafayette County Sheriff

DARLINGTON —  On March 30: 

●  A deputy responded for an alarm at 12:13 a.m. on Miner Way in Shullsburg. 

●  A tree on the roadway was reported at 12:34 a.m. on Palfrey Road, Town of Shullsburg. 

●  Livestock on the roadway was reported at 9:49 a.m. on Center Drive Road, Town of Elk Grove. 

●  April P. Dicks, 39, Darlington, was arrested on a probation and parole warrant at 6:46 p.m. on West Catherine Street in Darlington. She was jailed. 

●  Belmont Fire Department assisted Mineral Point Fire Department with traffic control at 11:51 p.m. on U.S. 151 in Iowa County. 

On March 31: 

●  Suspicious activity was reported at 2:20 a.m. on North Green Street in Argyle. 

●  A deputy responded for a hit-and-run at 12:26 p.m. on County D, Town of Wayne. 

●  Deputies responded to check welfare at 1:39 p.m. on West Mound Road, Town of Belmont and at 6:06 p.m. on Edison Road, Town of Benton. 

●  Harassment was reported at 1:59 p.m. on Ames Road, Town of Darlington. 

●  A deputy responded for a burglary at 2:36 p.m. on Center Hill Road, Town of Darlington. Darlington police assisted. 

●  A traffic hazard was reported at 3:42 p.m. on U.S. 151, Town of Belmont. 

●  Donald W. Turpin, 27, Mineral Point, was cited for speeding at 7:11 p.m. on Wis. 81, Town of Elk Grove. 

●  Gary R. Bald, 70, Darlington, was cited for speeding at 7:57 p.m. on Wis. 81, Town of Seymour. 

●  A disabled vehicle was reported at 8:04 p.m. on Wis. 23, Town of Willow Springs. 

●  A threatening complaint was reported at 8:34 p.m. on South Penn Street in Belmont. 

●  Alvin W. Walters Jr., 40, South Wayne, was cited for driving after revocation at 10:33 p.m. on Wis. 11, Town of Gratiot. 

●  Fany O. Salgado-Quiroz, 25, Darlington, was cited for driving after suspension at 10:34 p.m. on Wis. 23 in Darlington. 

●  A deputy responded for an alarm at 11:46 p.m. on Miner Way in Shullsburg.

On April 1: 

●  A deputy assisted Darlington police with a traffic stop at 1:02 a.m. on Wis. 81, Town of Darlington. 

●  Anthony S. Rieth, 23, South Milwaukee, was cited for speeding at 1:33 a.m. on Wis. 11, Town of Shullsburg. Darlington Police K9 unit assisted. 

●  A deputy responded for a vehicle unlock at 12:49 p.m. on Wis. 81, Town of Argyle. 

●  A 911 misdial was reported at 4:51 p.m. on Furnace Hill Road, Town of Willow Springs. 

●  A deputy assisted with traffic control for Argyle Fire at 9:26 p.m. on Monroe Street in Argyle. 

●  A deputy assisted Darlington police with a traffic stop at 10:34 p.m. on Galena Street in Darlington. 

●  Ignacio Ramirez-Padilla, 58, Peoria, Illinois, was cited for speeding at 11:14 p.m. on Wis. 81, Town of Darlington. 

On April 2: 

●  Malcom Walker, 37, Green Leaf, was cited for speeding at 12:49 a.m. on Wis. 81, Town of Darlington. 

●  A deputy found a disabled vehicle at 1:34 a.m. on Wis. 81, Town of Seymour. 

●  Samantha Keene, 22, Monroe, was cited for speeding at 3:52 a.m. on Wis. 11, Town of Shullsburg. 

●  An erratic driver was reported at 5:33 a.m. on Wis. 81, Town of Elk Grove and at 9:40 p.m. on County X, Town of Belmont. 

●  An injured animal on the roadway was reported at 5:47 a.m. on Wis. 78, Town of Argyle. 

●  Harassment was reported at 7:16 p.m. on White School Road, Town of Gratiot.
