On Feb. 23:
● At approximately 6:35 a.m., Officers issued (1) parking citation for violation of the winter parking ordinance/regulations. There is a presumption of innocence until proven guilty.
● At approximately 4:52 p.m., Officers conducted a traffic stop for an observed traffic violation on STH 69 and W. Coates Avenue. As a result of the traffic stop, Hannah F. Zeman, 35, of Fitchburg was cited for inattentive driving. There is a presumption of innocence until proven guilty.
● At approximately 6:12 p.m., Officers conducted a traffic stop for an observed traffic violation on STH 69 and W. Coates Avenue. As a result of the traffic stop, Wilfredo Lanza Diaz, 36, of Darlington was cited for operating a motor vehicle without a valid driver’s license. There is a presumption of innocence until proven guilty.
On Feb. 24:
● At approximately 7:21 p.m., Officers received information on a check welfare at an undisclosed location in the village. After looking into the matter, a check welfare request was sent to an Illinois law enforcement agency where the person in questions resides. Follow up will be conducted pending the check welfare.
● At approximately 1:52 p.m., Officers responded to the 200 block of N. Main Street for a parking complaint. The matter was resolved a short time later.
● At approximately 2:27 p.m., Officers responded to the 100 block of Staedtler Avenue for a parking complaint. The matter was resolved a short time later.
● At approximately 4:53 p.m., Officers conducted a traffic stop on E. Coates Avenue and Madison Street for an observed traffic violation. As a result of the traffic stop, Ariel S. Foesch, 21, of Brooklyn was cited for speeding in excess of the posted speed limit. There is a presumption of innocence until proven guilty.
● At approximately 6:01 p.m., Officers conducted a traffic stop on E. Coates Avenue and Madison Street for an observed traffic violation. As a result of the traffic stop, Darci R. McGrath-Padulla, 25, of Monroe was cited for speeding in excess of the post speed limit. There is a presumption of innocence until proven guilty.
● At approximately 7:51 p.m., Officers assisted the Green County Sheriff’s Office with an attempt to locate vehicle. The vehicle was located in the 100 block of State Hwy 69. Officers followed the vehicle until the Green County Sheriff’s Officer got involved and took over attempting to contact the driver of the vehicle.
On Feb. 25:
● At approximately 2:34 p.m., Officers conducted a traffic stop on E. Coates Avenue and Madison Street for an observed traffic violation. As a result of the traffic stop, Bradley J. Smith of Dodgeville was cited for failure to wear a seatbelt. There is a presumption of innocence until proven guilty.
● At approximately 4:13 p.m., Officers conducted a traffic stop on E. Lake Avenue and S. Garfield Street for an observed traffic violation. As a result of the traffic stop and while checking the driving status of the driver, officers learned that the driver had a full extraditable warrant out of the State of Montana. After confirmation of the arrest warrant, Larry J. Ford, Jr, using a Janesville, WI address was taken into custody for an arrest warrant. Ford was transported and was incarcerated into the Green County Jail while waiting for extradition back to the State of Montana. The New Glarus Police Department assisted at the scene.
● At approximately 6:37 p.m., Officers responded to the 500 block of S. Main Street for a vehicle unlock request. The vehicle was unlocked without incident.
On Feb. 26:
● At approximately 4:51 p.m., Officers conducted a traffic stop for an observed traffic violation on E. Wisconsin Avenue and S. Pratt Road. As a result of the traffic stop, Craig W. Bryant of Albany was cited for speeding in excess of the posted limit. There is a presumption of innocence until proven guilty.
● At approximately 7:12 p.m., Officers responded with the village for an emergency medical call. Green County EMS and Monticello First Response also responded.
● At approximately 8:04 p.m., Officers responded to the 300 block of S. Monroe Street for a reported vandalism incident. It was reported that a window was damaged on a vehicle. The incident remains under investigation.
On Feb. 28:
● At approximately 11:14 a.m., Officers responded to the 200 block of N. Main Street for a reported motor vehicle crash with no reported injuries. It was reported that an unoccupied vehicle had rolled out of gear and crashed into a building. A State of Wisconsin Motor Vehicle Crash report was completed.
● At approximately 11:22 a.m., Officers received a report of a dog running at large in the 200 block of N. Main Street. The dog was located, captured and returned to its owner a short time later.
● At approximately 2:45 p.m., Officers received a report of a vicious dog incident that had occurred a couple of days prior to the report. Officers will monitor the situation.
● At approximately 3:32 p.m., Officers received a report of a possible fraud attempt. A citizen reported that they received a phone call from someone who requested the citizens date of birth and last 4 digits of their social security number. The citizen hung up on the caller.
● At approximately 3:32 p.m., Officers received a report of a sex offense that occurred at an undisclosed location in the Village of Monticello. The incident remains under investigation.
● At approximately 4:13 p.m., Officers were contacted by the street department in reference to a power outage at well #3. A generator will be running during the night an may create noise issues. A notification was posted on Facebook notifying citizen of the matter.
● At approximately 6:35 p.m., Officers responded to the 500 block of W. Coates Avenue for a welfare check. The person in question was contacted. Everything was found to be okay.
On March 01:
● At approximately 6:53 a.m., Officers assisted the Green County Sheriff’s Office with an animal complaint in the W5700 block of County Hwy NN.
● At approximately 8:13 a.m., Officers responded to the 100 block of E. Coates Avenue for a 911 call. Contact was made with the caller and it was found that the 911 call was a “pocket dial”. Everything was found to be okay and the 911 call was incidental.
● At approximately 11:46 a.m., Officers responded to the area of County Hwy X and Doyle Road. This was to assist the Green County Sheriff’s Office with a subject that was actively resisting arrest. The arrest and incident are being investigated by the Green County Sheriff’s Office.
● At approximately 1:12 p.m., Officers responded to the 600 block of Summit Avenue for a 911 call. Contact was made with the caller and it was found to be a “pocket dial”. Everything was found to be okay and the 911 call was incidental.
● At approximately 3:22 p.m., Officers responded to the 300 block of S. Garfield Street for a parking complaint. The situation was resolved a short time later.
● At approximately 6:30 p.m., Officers received a report of a suspicious person that walks in the area of the 300 block of S. Garfield Street. Officers checked the area and no one suspicious was located.
On March 2:
● At approximately 9:53 a.m., Officers assisted the United States Treasury Office who was conducting follow up on an incident at an undisclosed location in the village. The incident is being investigated by the United States Treasury Office.
● At approximately 11:43 a.m., Officers received a report of a theft in the 300 block of Greenview Avenue. It was found that the theft had occurred to a delivered package prior to the package being delivered to a location in the village. A theft claim/investigation was started with the delivery company, Fed Ex.
On March 3:
● At approximately 8:05 a.m., Officers responded to the alley in the 200 block of Main Street behind Gempeler’s Supermarket for a parking complaint. A parking citation for blocking a drive/alley/fire lane was issued. The vehicle was also marked for 24-hour removal/impound.
● At approximately 2:11 p.m., Officers responded to the 100 block of State Hwy 69 for a report of a dog running at large. The dog was captured and the owner was not located. While the officer was enroute to the Green County Humane Society the owner contacted law enforcement. The dog was then turned over to its owner at a location outside of the village.
On March 6:
● At approximately 5:06 p.m., Officers responded to the 300 block of S. Main Street for a reported fire alarm. Alarm was found to be false and set off by excessive dust. Monticello Fire Department also responded.
On March 8:
● At approximately 3:32 p.m., Officers responded to the 300 block of S. Monroe Street for a parking complaint. A vehicle was reported to be parked and covered with a tarp for an extended amount of time. The vehicle was marked for removal.
● At approximately 5:09 p.m., Officers were contacted by the Lake Delton Police Department requesting assistance with an incident the Lake Delton Police Department was investigating.
On March 9:
● At approximately 7:30 a.m., Officers received a report of suspicious activity in the 300 block of S. Main Street. Information has been documented and the situation will be monitored.
● At approximately 2:01 p.m., Officers received an animal complaint in the 600 block of E. Lake Avenue. A dog was found running at large in the area dragging a cable and cable anchor. The dogs owner arrived and the dog was returned to it’s owner.
● At approximately 5:22 p.m., Officers responded to the 600 block of E. Park Avenue for a 911 call. After arriving officers found that the 911 call was an accidental dial. There was no emergency. No further action was needed.
On March 10:
● At approximately 5:52 a.m., Officers issued (7) parking citations for violation of the winter parking ordinance at numerous locations throughout the village. There is a presumption of innocence until proven guilty.
On March 11:
● At approximately 10:14 a.m., Officers conducted a welfare check in the 500 block of Sunset Avenue. Everything was found to be okay.
● At approximately 6:39 p.m., Officers conducted a traffic stop for an observed traffic violation on State Hwy 69 and W. Coates Avenue. As a result of the traffic stop, Doriam Antonio Mejia Gutierrez, 26, of Cuba City was cited for operating a motor vehicle without a valid driver’s license. There is a presumption of innocence until proven guilty.
