Monroe Fire Department

MONROE — A natural gas leak was reported by a We Energies crew in the 600 block of 18th Avenue at about 10:30 a.m. Friday, May 3. The crew was using a probe and accidentally hit the main gas line. Four homes were evacuated for about an hour as a precaution. Monroe police redirected traffic from the area. Firefighters left the scene shortly after 11:30 a.m., after We Energies had the gas line secured.

●  Blanchardville EMS responded at 8:16 a.m. to Mound Street in Blanchardville. Blanchardville police assisted on scene.
