Lafayette County Sheriff

DARLINGTON — On Monday, March 25:

●  Belmont EMS responded at 3:25 a.m. to Ridge Lane, Town of Belmont.

●  Belmont EMS responded at 10:20 p.m. to North Penn Street in Belmont.

On Tuesday, March 26:

●  Blanchardville EMS responded at 4:08 a.m. to Line Street in Blanchardville.

●  Shullsburg EMS responded at 11:55 a.m. to East Main Street in Shullsburg. Shullsburg police assisted.

●  Benton First Response and Hazel Green EMS responded at 1:44 p.m. to Bean Street in Benton. Benton police assisted on scene.

●  The Darlington Fire Department responded at 3:31 p.m. to Ferndale Road, Town of Willow Springs, to assist the Mineral Point Fire Department with a fire.

●  Green County EMS of Darlington and the Gratiot Fire Department responded at 5:42 p.m. to Wis. 78 for a medical emergency. Darlington police assisted.

On Wednesday, March 27:

●  Belmont EMS responded at 5:48 a.m. to Dawn Vista Drive in Belmont.


Albany Fire

ALBANY — Smoke in a residence in the 400 block of South Mill Street was reported at 3:15 p.m. Monday, March 25. A lit cigarette had caught some newspapers and magazines in the basement on fire, which then spread to a wooden bench and cabinet. Firefighters were able to extinguish the fire within five minutes. Damages were minimal and mostly from the large amount of smoke. No injuries were reported.

On Thursday, March 28:

●  A skid steer on fire in a barn was reported at 8:21 a.m. in the 2300 block of County F. The 15-year-old skid steer caught on fire due to an electrical short. Firefighters put a hose to the skid steer and then checked the machine and barn with a thermal detector. The skid steer was totaled. There was no damage to the barn.

●  A smoking truck was reported at 9:07 a.m. on Wis. 59/104. There was no fire, but the truck had leaked oil onto the road. Firefighters cleaned up the leak with Oil-Dri absorbent.
