Felonies
● Alicia Daniella Parr, 27, Monroe, entered a deferred prosecution agreement Jan. 17 on a Class H felony charge of threat or battery to a law enforcement officer. The charge will be fully dismissed if she complies with the agreement. She also pleaded no contest to two misdemeanor counts of disorderly conduct and was sentenced to one year on probation, with conditions that she attend quarterly review hearings and seek alcohol or other drug abuse counseling and mental health treatment. The charges stem from two incidents in Monroe. On Aug. 1, a man reported she was “going nuts” and had slapped him at a residence on 25th Street. On Sept. 9, police responded to the Kwik Trip on 8th Avenue for a report that Parr was yelling and swearing at other customers in the store because she thought she heard someone insult her. Court records indicate she refused to obey police orders and was resistive with officers.
● George Michael Bucher, 49, Brodhead, entered a one-year deferred prosecution agreement Feb. 1 on a Class H felony charge of false imprisonment and misdemeanor charges of battery, criminal damage to property and disorderly conduct. The charges will be full dismissed if he complies with conditions of the agreement, including anger management counseling, quarterly review hearings and no contact with the victim. Court records indicate Bucher grabbed a woman and stomped on her foot, causing bruising, and bent her vehicle’s rearview mirror at her Brodhead residence June 27, 2018. In a statement to the court, she wrote, “The impact that this has had on me has varied from sadness, fear, confusion and much more. I don’t sleep well and when I do there are nightmares. There is a fear of retaliation, for turning him in. There have been moments of shame and embarrassment.” She wrote that the bruising she suffered shows “he used more force than he would like to admit to” and he needs “to realize that he cannot push women around and put his hands on them because he is angry or not getting his way.” She asked that Bucher “get mandated help,” explaining, “We live in a small community. I do not wish to make Mr. Bucher’s life difficult as I do not want him to make mine difficult. ... He needs help and needs to be charged so that hopefully this never happens to another person in his life.”
