Green County
Felonies
● Adam Tyler Menehan, 34, Brodhead, was charged June 27 with a Class I felony count of fleeing or eluding an officer in a vehicle, stemming from an attempted traffic stop on an SUV in the early morning hours of May 13 on Wis. 11, Town of Spring Grove. Court records indicate the SUV driver fled at speeds topping 100 mph. An officer eventually located the SUV parked in a field off County G, south of Pedee Road. A female passenger said she and Menehan had been headed back from a bar in Monroe. The officer found a cup of alcohol in the center console, along with a can of Twisted Tea and bottle of Fireball whiskey.
● Jacob Michael Wilson, 23, Brodhead, pleaded no contest June 28 to a Class H felony charge of taking and driving a vehicle without consent, as a party to a crime. He was sentenced to three years on probation with a conditional 10 days in jail. Conditions of his probation include no drinking. He owes $768 in court assessments. He is eligible to have the conviction expunged from his record under a state law that grants leniency to young offenders. The case stems from an investigation into a single-vehicle rollover accident reported at 2:16 a.m. Oct 30, 2017 in the W4300 block of Montgomery Road, Town of Jefferson.
● Marcus Jordan Phiffer, 23, Monroe, pleaded no contest July 3 to misdemeanor charges of bail jumping and criminal damage to property. He was sentenced to two years on probation with conditions including payment of restitution and no drinking. He owes $1,443 in court assessments. Felony charges including strangulation and substantial battery were dismissed. The convictions stem from two incidents in 2018. Court records indicate Phiffer was drinking with others at about 3 a.m. May 13 in the 1500 block of 8th Street in Monroe when a man told him to quiet down and Phiffer responded by punching him, shoving him into a door and breaking the screen; and on Aug. 21 he scratched another person’s Harley Davidson motorcycle in the 1000 block of 1st Center Avenue in Brodhead.
Misdemeanors
● Nathaniel Anton Judd, 19, Evansville, pleaded no contest June 18 to an ordinance violation of disorderly conduct, downgraded from a misdemeanor, and was fined $330.50. Three misdemeanor counts of criminal damage to property were dismissed. Court records indicate Judd’s ex-roommate reported Judd to police for breaking and destroying furniture in their rural Monticello home while the roommate was away visiting family over Christmas 2018 and that Judd told the roommate to “have fun cleaning up the mess, I had fun making it.”
