Green County
Felonies
● Kortney M. Lisser, 34, Portage, pleaded no contest June 28 to misdemeanor counts of disorderly conduct, battery and criminal damage to property and was sentenced to three years on probation with a conditional 30 days in jail. She also entered a three-year deferred prosecution agreement on a Class I felony count of substantial battery. Other felony charges including false imprisonment were dismissed. She was assessed over $2,500 in fees and fines. The charges stem from domestic abuse altercations with a woman at their then-home in Albany in September and February. Court records indicate that during one incident, Lisser slammed the woman against a wall, pulled her hair, punched her in the nose and smashed her Apple Watch against the ground. The woman had bruising on her face and told police she “couldn’t walk straight” after the attack.
● Marianne Frances Zubek, 53, Cassville, pleaded guilty June 25 to a Class I felony charge of maintaining a drug-trafficking place, with related felony charges including second-degree recklessly endangering safety and possession of narcotics dismissed. She was sentenced to 18 months on probation with conditions including a drug-abuse assessment and any recommended treatment. The case stems from a heroin overdose at her then-home in the N2300 block of Brodhead Airport Road, Town of Spring Grove, on Dec. 14. Court records indicate she and Hunter Ray Palmer, 24, Evansville, made a deal to share some heroin and he overdosed on the drug. It took four doses of the opioid reversal drug Narcan to revive Palmer and maintain his breathing. Palmer entered a deferred agreement on a related narcotics possession charge. Court records indicate he sought treatment and is currently under community supervision.
