Misdemeanors
● Courtney Jeann Jackson, 22, Monroe, pleaded no contest Oct. 18 to misdemeanor charges of making threats via computer message without disclosing identity and violating a harassment restraining order. She was sentenced to 18 months on probation. Upon successful completion of her probation, she is eligible to have the convictions expunged from her record under a state law that grants leniency to offenders younger than 25. Court records indicate Jackson used a phone application that concealed her number to send harassing and threatening messages to a male victim in April.
● Scott Howard West, 31, Monroe, pleaded no contest Oct. 18 to a misdemeanor charge of knowingly violating a domestic abuse injunction, with a second count dismissed as part of a plea deal, and was fined $579. Court records indicate the fine is paid. On Dec. 18, 2017, West sent text messages to a woman and “stood close to her and stared at her” at a school event in Juda, in violation of a court order, according to the criminal complaint. In a victim-impact statement, the woman wrote that West “keeps me scared” and “is constantly harassing me.” She wrote that West should get probation in the case, explaining that he needs supervision: “I hope the court takes into consideration that he does not follow the laws.”

Felonies
● Allen Ryan Fengier, 28, Amherst, was charged Dec. 13 with one Class H felony count each of forgery and fraud against a financial institution. A warrant is issued for his arrest. Court records indicate that on Sept. 13 at Woodford State Bank in Blanchardville, Fengier cashed a check for $1,967 issued to him by RBS Activewear of Argyle; however, the bank teller later discovered the check was fabricated and forged and that RBS Activewear had no knowledge of or association with Fengier. The check was created to look exactly like a legitimate check from RBS Activewear, with only a slight difference in the signature at the bottom of the check.
