BRODHEAD — Three men are in custody on charges of possessing child pornography after police executed a search warrant on a Brodhead duplex.
The arrests and search warrant came after three and a half months of investigation into online activities at a duplex in the 600 block of 1st Center Avenue, according to a release from Brodhead Chief of Police Chris Hughes.
The investigation was prompted by a tip from the Wisconsin Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force of “possible child pornography being shared or received by devices at this residence via various social media platforms.”
Brodhead police and agents with the Wisconsin Division of Criminal Investigation arrived at the duplex at about 7 p.m. Dec. 15 to serve the search warrant.
Arrested as a result were Mateo Hernandez Patishtan, 31, Pascual Hernandez Patishtan, 33, and Rafael Hernandez Patishtan, 26, all of Brodhead. They were booked into the Green County Jail.
Orfordville police and the Green County Sheriff’s Office assisted in serving the warrant. Brodhead police are also working with the U.S. Bureau of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) to “address the criminal activities of these parties,” Hughes said.
The three men are related, Hughes said, “how so, I am not sure.”
