Convicted sex offender to be released in Monroe

MONROE - A Monroe man convicted of sexually assaulting a child in 2011 will be released from a five-year prison sentence on Friday. Robert William Allen, 35, was convicted in 2011 of a Class C felony count of second-degree sexual assault of a child in Green County. According to court records, Allen was charged after an incident in late August 2010 when he groped an early teenage girl through her clothing at a residence in Monroe.
