DARLINGTON - The Lafayette County Land Conservation Department announced the Cost Share sign-up for 2014. The sign-up will be held from Monday, Jan. 13 through Friday, Feb. 14.
Approval for cost sharing will be based on conservation need and availability of funding.
There have been some DATCP rule changes. Cost Share to governmental units will be at a 50 percent rate instead of 70 percent. Projects can still be cost shared at 70 percent if it can be shown it is used to meet a conservation standard.
Possibile cost share practices include contour stripcropping, terraces or diversions, well abandonment, spring development/wetland enhancement, animal waste management, manure storage structure, grassed waterway, streambank, grade stabilization structure and municipal partnering.
