DARLINGTON - The Lafayette County Conservation and Zoning Department is hosting a jurisdictional meeting from 10 a.m. to noon Thursday, March 6 in the Community Room at Talmer Bank, 15815 Wisconsin 81.
The meeting is being held to help people understand the steps that need to be taken to ensure that farm, home, zoning, and septic projects are installed following the proper procedures.
Some of the speakers and topics are:
Melissa Bartz, of the Natural Resources Conservation Service, will discuss United States Department of Agriculture compliance, sodbuster and swampbuster. Terry Loeffelholz, of the conservation and zoning department, will discuss sanitary ordinance, shoreland floodplain ordinance, zoning ordinance, and an update on the manure storage ordinance. Andy Morton and additional Department of Natural Resources representatives will also discuss procedures for proper permitting of projects.
