Community invited to homecoming activities

Black Hawk High School will be celebrating homecoming week Sept. 14 to 19. The district is inviting community to celebrate.

The activities scheduled for the week include:

• Monday, Sept. 14, dress up day - class colors day.

• Tuesday, Sept. 15, dress up day - favorite teacher day.

• Wednesday, Sept. 16, dress up day - blast from the past.

• Thursday, Sept. 17, dress up day - class theme day.

Girls Volleyball plays a home game against Monticello with the junior varsity game at 5:30 p.m. and the varsity at 7 p.m. This will be "Pack The Gym Night." Each person who brings an item for the Black Hawk Food Pantry will receive free admission to the volleyball match. Just leave the food pantry item at the ticket table for free admission.

• Friday, Sept. 19, is Warrior Spirit Day; high school students will dress in Black Hawk "Warriors" gear and will be building floats in the morning and participating in activities in the afternoon. At 7 p.m., games and activities on the football field; at 8 p.m. skits and pep rally in the gym; at 9:15 p.m. fireworks show at Black Hawk High School and music by "Long Hard Ride." Bring your lawn chairs or blankets and enjoy the show from the football field or bleachers.

• Saturday, Sept. 20, homecoming parade at noon; 2 p.m. homecoming football game against Potosi; 7 to 11:30 p.m. homecoming dance in the lower commons.
