Community Center to host Chili Cook-Off

ALBANY - The Albany Community Center is hosting its second annual Chili Cook-Off Contest from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 6 during the Albany Fall Festival.

The cost is $10 for each chili submitted to the cook-off. Proceeds will benefit the Albany Community Center. Chili will also be for sale for 50 cents a scoop and 25 cents for toppings.

Set-up will begin at 10 a.m. and participants will be provided with a table approximately 4-by-4 to serve samples of their chili creation. Samples are served by participants from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

Winners will be announced at 2 p.m. Participants will be provided with judging forms, cups, spoons and napkins. Participants must bring an extension cord, crock pot of chili (up to 2 gallons) and decorations for their 4-by-4 table space. Prizes will be awarded as following: $40 for first-place judge's favorite, $20 for second-place judge's favorite, $20 for crowd favorite chili and $15 for crowd favorite booth decor.
