MONROE - Monroe Clinic has achieved the Pathway to Excellence designation by the American Nurses Credentialing Center.

The designation identifies the elements of interprofessional work environments where nurses can flourish and feel empowered. The designation substantiates nursing job satisfaction at Monroe Clinic.

The Pathway to Excellence designation is granted based on the confirmed presence of the six Pathway to Excellence practice standards: shared decision-making, leadership, safety, quality, well-being and professional development.

For Monroe Clinic to earn the distinction, it had to successfully pass a review process that documents its foundational quality initiatives to create a positive work environment as defined by nurses and supported by research.

It's mandatory that these initiatives are integrated in the clinic's practices, policies and culture. Nurses at the clinic validated the presence of the criteria through participation in a voluntary and confidential online survey, which revealed that Monroe Clinic surpassed the qualifying threshold - by 50 percent in some response criteria.

This is Monroe Clinic's second time earning the designation; it initially applied for and received the designation in 2014.
