MONROE - The Clean Sweep Site, located at the Green County Landfill, will be closing for the season on Oct. 31. The Clean Sweep Site is open 7 a.m. to 3 p.m., Monday through Friday. It is also open on the first Saturday of the month from 8 a.m. until noon.
Tanna McKeon, Green County Emergency Management director, reminds residents to properly store all lawn and household products safely and out of the reach of children and pets.
Hazardous products include cleaners, automotive fluids, medicines, paint products, pool chemicals, lawn and garden care products and some beauty products. If hazardous products are not used, stored, and disposed of properly, they can be hazardous to you and your family's health and the environment.
The Green County Public Health Department has Mr. Yuk stickers available. Stickers come with information on how to keep children safe in the household. Mr. Yuk stickers can be placed on products that contain hazardous chemicals. Every single sticker has the phone number for the Wisconsin Poison Control Center.
