TOWN OF CLARNO - A 17-year-old from Monroe was arrested and jailed on multiple sexual assault charges early Sunday, Jan. 6.
Michael P. Gifford will make his first appearance in court Tuesday afternoon, according to District Attorney Gary Luhman.
Gifford faces charges of incest, repeated sexual assault, physical abuse of a child, battery, first-degree sexual assault of a child and second-degree sexual assault by use of violence.
The alleged incidents occurred between July 1 and Sunday and involve a teen-aged girl, according to Sheriff Jeff Skatrud.
Gifford was taken into custody after deputies responded at 3:58 a.m. Sunday to a complaint of sexual assault at a home in the N2300 block of Bloom Lane in the Town of Clarno, according to the Green County Sheriff's Department.
