MONROE - At a meeting Tuesday, the City of Monroe Salary and Personnel Committee :
• Discussed the retirement of WWTP Director Jerry Ellefson, effective Dec. 27, and voted to proceed with normal recruitment process of posting the position, with a starting salary of between $60,000 and $80,000 depending upon experience.
• Discussed and recommended to Council to hire Levi Reincke as a replacement dispatcher effective Nov. 9 at an entry level wage of about $15.04.
• Discussed and denied request from union for classification upgrades and wage increases for positions at the Senior Center. The union will be allowed to bring the issue to the next negotiation period.
• Recommended to Council to ratify WPPA Dispatcher's contract for 2009-2010.
Member Charles Schuringa was absent.
