MONROE - In a meeting Monday, the City of Monroe Public Safety Committee:
• Discussed, but took no action, on downtown area sign and traffic control plan.
• Discussed future timed parking control, and authorized Police Chief Fred Kelley to find a way to produce a study of parking problems to bring back to the committee for discussion at a later date.
• Discussed but took no action to set detour traffic routes for the future 8th and 9th streets construction projects. Several department heads are researching the issue.
Committee Chairperson Charles Koch was absent.
