MONROE - In a meeting Tuesday, the City of Monroe Public Property Committee:
• Met with Green County Historical Society representatives to discuss lease with city that terminates June 30, 2010. Society President Christie Strait reviewed the improvements and repairs made to the building, previously used by the First Unitarian Universalist Church on 9th Street. Strait also discussed the group's fundraising events and grants, as well as some items donated to the museum and the need for more storage. Motion was made and passed to extend the same lease contract for another seven years at the annual rate of $1.
