MONROE - In a meeting Monday, Dec. 20, the Board of Public Works:
- Approved bills from Fehr-Graham and Associates for $5,190, $4,177, $6,873, and $3,328 for 9th Street and 16th Avenue water main replacement project and grant application, and from MSA Professional Services for $4,107 for the stormwater quality master plan.
- Heard from Kelly Finkenbinder, director of public works, that a garbage truck had an engine replaced.
MONROE - In a meeting Monday, the Public Safety Committee:
- Discussed a request to move handicapped parking stall in 1100 block of 17th Avenue. No action was taken.
MONROE - In a joint meeting Monday, the Public Property Committee and Public Safety Committee:
- Met with Green County Humane Society and proposed changes to the city's current agreement with the organization. The city's proposals focused on turning over to the society a budgeted $15,000 for 2011, in exchange for the society taking over some of the city's obligations for utility costs, facility maintenance and garbage bags.
The city will continue to maintain a dumpster at the site. GCHS board members said they will meet next month to discuss the changes proposed by the city and to revise its August proposals to the city for resubmission.
