MONROE - "Bulky waste" is the term used to designate any solid waste, which due to its composition, weight, or bulk, cannot be effectively collected and transported. This includes furniture, appliances, furnaces, toilets, carpeting or swing sets.These items can be picked up at any time of the year by adhering to the following procedure: n You must file a form at City Hall or at the Street Department explaining what the item is and then it will be picked up on your next normal collection day.n You must purchase a bulky waste sticker and affix it to the item for pickup. The cost of a bulky waste sticker varies according to the item, but some common items are: refrigerators or freezers, $50 each; air conditioning units, $40 each; dehumidifiers, $35; washers, dryers, stoves, water heaters, boilers, furnaces, dishwashers, $20; tires, $5; Household furniture and fixtures, including carpeting, toilets and sinks, $10; swing sets, poles, $20; and Lumber, plasterboard, $20 cubic yard.
