City of Monroe Common Council: Nov. 3, 2009

MONROE - In a meeting Tuesday, the City of Monroe Common Council:

• Passed unanimously a resolution authorizing hiring Scott Cairy to be replacement dispatcher, effective Nov. 30, 2009. .

• Approve unanimously claims in the amount of $892,629.80.

• Passed a resolution approving a "no parking" area in 100 Block of West 7th Street.

• Granted operator's license to Dawna Engleking and electrical contractor's licenses to Richard Fox and Jeff Stauffacher.

• Held a public hearing and passed unanimously a resolution approving the issuance of development revenue bonds by the redevelopment authority of the City of Monroe.

• Passed on a 9-1 vote a resolution approving placement of temporary outdoor storage units adjacent to Walmart Supercenter Store. Alderman Charles Koch voted against.

• Heard an update by Fehr-Graham & Associates regarding downtown streetscape project.

Mayor Ron Marsh issued a proclamation for work and education in the arts by the Monroe Theatre Guild, in recognition of its capital campaign.
