MONROE - In a meeting Monday, the City of Monroe Board of Public Works:
Approved for payment bills from Fehr-Graham & Associates in the amounts of $84,122 and $52,862 for downtown streetscape construction observation; $1,845.25, $1,169 and $1,578.25 for sewer and water grant applications for 9th Street at the intersection of 16th Avenue; $8,728 and $18,501.40 for DNR permits for 9th Street at the intersection of 16th Avenue.
Authorized purchase of water leak locator, a budgeted item, for $3,795 from J & R supply.
Sent to Finance and Taxation Committee for cost consideration a proposal for painting of Lincoln Park Water Tower from Central Tanking Coatings Inc.
Reviewed and approved 2010 yard waste drop-off schedule, including adding two Wednesdays per month.
Authorize purchase of lowest quoted prices on base course materials and asphalt from Madrell Excavating, Bjoin, Danoll Boone and Rock Road.
Authorize purchase of Smithco ball field tractor for $15,801 with trade-in from Burris.
Heard from Nancy Maliszewski regarding concerns and design of parking and downtown streetscape. Recommended narrowing the width of mid-street crossings on the Square to five feet, and sent the issues to Public Safety Committee.
