City Engineer Al Gerber estimated the cost at between $6,000 and $10,000. The recommendation is based on the exact cost being submitted by Council meeting Tuesday.

• Reiterated that costs of replacing the steps on the north side of the Square have not been determined yet. Removal of the steps began Aug. 4. Council President Dan Henke said when contractor bills are submitted, they will come through the board first.

"The priority was to get the businesses up and running," he said.
