MONDAY - At a meeting Monday, April 16, the city of Monroe Board of Public Works:
- Postponed action on a pond dredge and temporary access agreement with Monroe Country Club, Inc., pending final negotiations.
- Reviewed quotes and authorized the purchase of traffic paint from Sherwin Williams.
- Reviewed quotes and authorized the purchase of a paint striper from Sherwin Williams.
- Authorized city's participation in WISDOT salt bid.
- Reviewed quotes and authorized hiring Bartelt Enterprises, Inc., Oregon, for sealcoating parking lots.
MONROE - In a meeting Monday, April 16, the City of Monroe Salary and Personnel Committee:
- Discussed and approved advertising to fill a part-time Senior Center custodian position due to retirement. The committee also considered but rejected a suggestion of hiring a full-time custodian to fulfill the position as well as a part-time custodial position at city hall.
- Approved a job description for and advertising to fulfill a part-time finance position at the water and wastewater utilities.
MONROE - In a special meeting Monday, April 16, the City of Monroe Common Council:
- Approved a certified survey map for Alpine Slicing & Cheese Conversion Co. to subdivide land along 8th Street.
- Approved unanimously increasing the wage rate by $1.51 per hour for the deputy comptroller position, effective April 16, to perform extra deputy treasurer duties until duty assignments change.
- Approved unanimously $402,900 to pay bills.
- Approved the Paul Mitchell Cosmetology School Trekking for our Troops charity walk from noon to 4 p.m. April 29 in Twining Park.
- Amended the licensed premises description to add an outdoor beer garden for an alcohol license issued to Zilmer Riley Post 84 (American Legion).
- Approved a sidewalk café permit and amended the licensed premises description for an alcohol license issued to ABC Ventures, LLC for 1609 10th Street (Bean and Barrel).
- Approved unanimously a purchase and development agreement with A & K Properties, LLC (Lamers Bus Lines) for land in the Monroe (North) Business and Industry Park.
- Went into closed session to discuss a performance evaluation of the city administrator and to review and discuss compensation.
The Council adjourned without taking any further action.
