MONROE - Green County Cheese Days is currently seeking artists to submit design concepts for the 2014 button logo, which will serve as the official image for the 100th anniversary of the festival.

Logos from previous festivals can be seen on the "History" page on the website cheesedays.com. Wording on the 2014 design must read as "Green County Cheese Days," not just Cheese Days. Designs should also include the text "100th anniversary," as well as the date of the festival, which are Sept. 19 through 21, 2014. Digital designs should be in vector format. Designers may be asked to make minor modifications to their original submission, based on the recommendations of the Cheese Days Committee. Designs are due by Friday, Feb. 1.

The Green County Cheese Days committee is planning a variety of special activities related to the 100th anniversary. The "flavor" set forth by the button logo will help to set the stage for various promotional efforts - including a television show with Discover Wisconsin, a media day and in point of purchase kits/materials that will be created and made available for use by area businesses for window and store displays. In addition, the logo will also be used on a variety of merchandise including commemorative steins, keepsakes and apparel.

Brainstorming words for design concepts include cheese, heritage, celebration, tradition and Historic Green County Courthouse, as the festival has always been located on the grounds of the courthouse in downtown Monroe.

There is no monetary compensation for the design, but the artist will be recognized via public relations and social media. The logo and artists will be introduced at the 100th anniversary kick-off/VIP party on Monday, Nov. 4 and at the media day planned for summer of 2014, as well as being invited to ride in the Cheese Days Parade.

More information is available by contacting the Cheese Days office at (608) 325-7771 or emailing cheesedays@tds.net.
