MONROE - Green County Cheese Days officially kicked off the 2018 festival with a special celebration on Monday at the historic Green County Courthouse in Monroe.

In addition to getting a first look at the new button logo design, the audience was introduced to 2018 Ambassador Tess Zettle, King and Queen Gordy and Ruth Bergemann and Parade Marshals Sherry Anderegg and Bert Digman.

The program began with alphorns and concluded with Martha Bernet and Marian Kundert, known as the Swiss Chicks, accompanied by John Waelti on accordion. The audience was led in singing the "Cheese Days Song." Wedgie the Cheese Days mascot was also part of the festivities.
